The Nowhere

The place in the void beyond any of the known universe. Origin of The Proteans as well as a few other creatures like mindflayers and beholders. The Proteans spoke of other creatures both gentle and terrifying that lived out in the dark of the void.  Some have come upon The Divine Architecture over the years since the arrival of The Proteans, but they told the Highmortals during the time before the Protean Exile that most of the creatures out there were afraid to come to The Divine Architecture. 
The darkness of The Nowhere isn't simply great. It is existence. Light isn't hoped for by creatures in The Nowhere because until they discover The Divine Architecture, light is a foreign concept. Some creature rejoiced in it's beauty, and some instead cower in fear from it.
There is no account of Highmortals ever traversing The Nowhere, or any information of any other celestial objects in or beyond The Nowhere.
