Backpack

Backpacks are universally useful and usually made of leathers, so as to be rain-resistant. But in the Unknown each society has different styles of construction, and each has their own particular benefits.

Graj

The Niechelat Graj is a distinct item that most all wanderers carry. Consisting of two large pouches of tooled leather situated atop each other, attached to two braided shoulder-straps that allow it to be carried between the shoulders on the back without issue. In addition to functional storage, it's honeyed-leather construction provides exceptional rain protection. Most Graj include a detachable padded bedroll that ties to the bottom of the pack, and the sides mount a rolled span of honeyed-leather that can form a waterproof base for a number of survival shelters, or act as an emergency tent for one person.

Uka

As expected from the Vahoba, an Uka is built for caving and begins on a reinforced frame. What is a large pack to the Vahoba tribesman is an average pack to the Niechela or Jasuve. However, aside from storage space, which is made up of a set of three compartments of increasing size, the greatest advantage of the uka is the toughened straps and buckles to the sides that can attach additional weaponry or tools without altering the pack's encumbrance.

Blas

The Jasuve favor a very different style of "backpack" to the other cultures. Jasuve use a single shoulder strap to hang a bag across their bodies to allow for ease of retrieval and gathering. The single storage compartment of the blas holds less than an uka or graj but is augmented by additional pouches that are built into the strap itself. The back of the blas has woven linen straps to tie equipment to, and the fold-over cover to the compartment is actually attached at the bottom of the bag and is made to fold over the bag from either side to allow for ambidextrous wear and use.
