Huja is an only child. After his birth, when his parents saw that he grew hair they decided that the risk was too great to have another child. He has never developed natural baldness and shaves every morning.

The Journal of Huja, begun after leaving the Jaoga Mou of the Pazawabazhu Imi.
My name is Huja. I am aged twenty-one iega. My skin has not yet reached to tone of night. My eyes are a light amber. I have chosen to leave my Mountain Home to save myself from being sacrificed to Ihapi for being the only member of the tribe who grows hair. My enemy learned of this and told others. As a fellow Watcher's Apprentice, they were able to tell of increased sign from Ihapi, only seen on their watches ... I have left my Mountain Home in search of another that will be more accepting of me.
Leaving the Jaoga Mao may have been a mistake. It might have been better to just be 'sacrificed' and run then. The Mulapahigie we saw were eating meat ... MEAT! And staring us down as if we were next. Needless to say, we ran.
