The Imperial Heartland

The home of humankind's Pearl Empire is known as the Heartland. It is a small continent with sprawling temperate plains, ringed in mountains. The Heartland is the political, cultural, spiritual and economic centre for Imperial humans.
The Heartland is two moons' voyage across the Gentle Sea from Illium, and is located closer to the other landmasses that the Pearl Empire has come to dominate.
