The Rainy Havens

The Rainy Havens, known in elvan as Rostalyn, and by the humans of Illium simply as the Realm of the Wood Elves, is one of the last surviving enclaves of wood elf society, located south down the Sylvan River.
Little is documented on elvan politics, though the Rainy Havens are ruled by a council of elders. The elvan rangers who patrol the border are led by a captain named Dallegin. She is known across the borders to be fierce, pragmatic and honourable and has kept a mostly cordial relationship with the human neighbours.

Landmarks

Little is known about the Rainy Havens as the wood elves expressly forbid human travellers from entering their borders, except to treat with their rangers. Though a few landmarks are known to those in Illium.

Eltiri - the Lakegard Tower

Where the Sylvan River flows widest and flattest it is a long, slim lake. At the northern end of the lake is a small island with a guard tower from where the wood elves have a perfect vantage point into the valley to their north. Eltiri, as it's known in elvan, is one of the few fortifications in the Rainy Havens.

Nanethar - the Mother Tree

By far the largest of the trees in the Rainy Havens, and thought to be one of the largest in the world, is Nanethar. It is a sacred site for the wood elves, and the dwellings strewn across its root system and lower branches are home to hundreds of elves.
