The Boots of Fasa
Description
The boots of Fasa are really more like slippers but the Barbaric Camerains who share stories of this Artifact do not have any concept of such footwear. The “boots,” according to those who claim to have seen them, are ankle high made of silky hair that is woven together in threads. The threads are held together with gold wires that where crimped with tongues to keep them bound to red dyed leather soles and trimmings. It is said to be the most magnificent footwear anyone has ever created. The few who wear them said that they feel like walking on clouds in a thick grass field.
Origin
It is believed by the followers of the Barki faith, that the world has been reincarnated several times. Each time, when a person does something magnificent worthy of fame, they can replace the current god in the domain of work that they did each time the world is recreated. This however did not happen to the god Fasa, lord of stealth and thievery. Instead, the other gods were tired of him stealing from their pockets for fun while in paradise. They sent him back to Kosmon as one of the first humans to populate the world in hopes that he would never be able to regain enough fame to become the god of stealth again.
When Fasa was placed on the world he remembered all of his tricks about stealth. He spent ten years preparing himself to make a trip to the entrance of the afterlife. He never created or worked for what he needed for his journey. Instead he took whatever he needed from the Warlords around him and hoarded gold and supplies until he was ready. He did so in such a way that would not bring attention to himself from the city watch or the gods. He would teach others the ways of stealth and had them steal greater things then him to put blame on others. When he was ready, he traveled far to the north and slipped into the portal to the afterlife and climbed the stairs to paradise.
Fasa remember that the main god who pushed to have him placed back on Kosmon was Afordra the goddess of beauty. She was angry at him for taking her golden mirror as a prank. It flipped out of his hand and smashed on the ground. He could not fix it and instead placed it back where he founded, while she was in the middle of using the mirror. He then tried to blame the greatest god of them all, Bariki for smashing the mirror. She saw right through his lies and all the gods took the side of Bariki.
When Fasa reached paradise, he managed to sneak around undetected by everyone for several years. When he was there, he cut several strains of Afdora’s hair each night; doing so in such a manner that it was not obvious her hair way missing and had time to grow back. During this time, Fasa ate fruit that was specially prepared for the gods and stole materials from the god of crafting. He watched as the god of clothes making created shoes and stole material to practice. After the time was done, Fasa took the hairs of Afdora and created his boots but realized that while making it he needed more hair to finish. He decided to pay Afdora one final visit and shaved her head collecting all of her hair while she slept. After one order to finish the style, Fasa cut himself and did the leather with his own blood mixing in wine for color.
When she woke, she didn’t realize that Fasa placed a silk wig on her until she came to breakfast. She sat a large round table with many of the other gods eating. When she went to go grab a sip of her drink, the wig fell off in front of everyone falling into the pork which was still steaming in her plate. All the gods where in shocked as Fasa walked over to the table and sat next to her partaking in the feast before them. Seeing that a mortal managed to accomplish such a feet they had no choice but to reward him godhood. After the universe was recreated Afdora hair was fully grown back and she paid a visit to Fasa during the day. He was sitting rolling dice using his sleight of hand to beat the god of gambling. Afdora apologized to him trying to reconcile what little they had left. Fasa accepted and they spent the day together and in the evening they went swimming, When Fasa was not paying attention she swiped his boots and threw them down to Kosmon where mortals could take ownership of the boots.
