As the Core Governments progressed technologically, the need for physical monetary systems became less and less prevalent. The CredStick technology became a simple solution to many of the monetary issues that old Earthers faced.
Instead of being tied to specific bank accounts which had the issues of vulnerabilities, were tied to specific planets and systems, and were not necessarily accessible everywhere a traveller would go, money could be tied into CredSticks instead. These incredibly secure devices are generally about the length of an average index finger. They are typically only keyed for one specific type of currency, though hybrid CredSticks do exist to hold multiple currencies in one unit. They are made to be extremely portable, transferrable, and ultimately disposable after the currency they contain is used.
