Utopia (Element #129): Utopia was the find to end all finds. This rare resource feels seems as solid as metal, but when touched the sheer black glasslike substance shimmers and ripples like the surface of water.
Through Core World refineries, the metal can be processed to serve as an incredibly slow burning, long lasting fuel. A Utopian Engine can travel on a single cube of Utopia the same distance as it would on 25 Terran Standard Power Cells (like those used in the New Horizons).
The Medical Researchers discovered that lacing vaccines with utopia slowed the process of entropy to a standstill, though the process of Utopia injection is both very dangerous to the unskilled as well as very, very expensive. This has created a disparity between the lengthened lifespan of the wealthy and that of the non-injected, though small fortunes have already vanished into the needles of the desperate and foolish.
Finally, the resource has been discovered to provide hallucinations and a sense of heightened reality when burned. Initial ships attempting to use the engines without the now standard seals in the Utopian Engines succumbed to the effects. Underground refineries specialize in taking a Utopian Cube or even raw Utopia and fragmenting it into amounts smaller than a fingertip. These are built into U-Pens, which are metal, cylindrical sticks which serve the purpose of slow burning the Utopia at a regulated temperature and diffusing the vapors to give the effect to anyone around the stick. Fake U-Pens with more/less Utopia or unoptimized burners can cause the element to burn too little or too harshly which can cause serious medical effects like Fleshed Lung to those who partake.

Taste

While a specific taste has never been identified, it has been concluded through studies that anyone actively tasting/licking Utopia feels a profound depression until the Utopia was removed wherein they felt manic joy for a few moments.
