Tumerian Li Shen: Am I Seeking Fate?

Tumerian Li Shen's Attempt to Reveal Fate

"Am I an Agent of Fate?"   "What is Fate?"   "Is there anything out there?"   These questions plague your mind as you repeatedly try to clear your mind and focus on nothingness in your meditations. Your recent experiences with Fate, aliens, and cosmic entities can't help but influence your state of mind, but your years of experience in meditation and self-control triumph in the end. The thoughts lessen. The mind opens. The third eye clears. Li seeks peace of his soul...Li seeks answers. However, all the third eye sees when you feel it open before you is darkness.   The void extends as far as you can see. Li feels a deep cold permeate his body...then slowly cease. His chest expands in a deep breath before being the sensation slips away. His flesh is left behind as you feel yourself drawn, willingly or not, into the darkness. Li's flesh is a vessel...you are the passenger freed at last. Deeper and deeper, farther from the control of Li's fingers, the calm repeating breaths...deeper from yourself. No stars fill the sky. No light haze of nebulas or distant suns. Only a true darkness as black as the deepest void.   Light! At long last, after what feels like an eternity wrapped inside this absence, a flicker of light appears in the distance. Whether your curiosity compels you to approach or the light approaches you on its own is impossible to say in this true void. In a blink of an eye that may have been a lifetime, the light is fully visible before you. It blazes like a fire, each tendril made of bright, burning threads spiraling around each other. The symbol is far too familiar at this point.
It is light, but no heat. You are colder now than you can ever remember being before. It is bright, but your eyes can still see nothing but the burning symbol in any direction. Thin threads flow into and off of it, disappearing as rapidly as they are noticeable. You feel compelled to speak, but no words come despite your best efforts. You remain beneath this symbol, burning and towering above you, as it hovers above you in complete and utter silence. You can't help but feel that there is a pattern in the spiraling arms and the twisting, burning threads. You feel like you are a moment away from understanding truths...paths...eternities. A moment away...but lost.   In an unprovoked thought, you realize as it hovers just above you that the scale of this entity is such that your entire body could fit into the very tip it and be lost within it like walking through the front door of a skyscraper. You realize that this is the first you've thought of your body or even self since arriving here. You look down and see the foggiest, transparent outline of the body you are used to. As you look down, it starts to solidify and harden into solid shapes of arms, chest, stomach. You glance up rapidly, looking for the entity, and see no evidence of the burning symbol of Fate around you. You feel your body returning, your chest falling from the breath you remember having just taken a moment before, and have a moment of certainty that the entire experience happened in the span of one breath.   The moment seems to have passed. The memory relegates itself to the depths of your mind where it will reside. Was it a hope? A dream? You blink your eyes as you stand and see, in the briefest of moments from your eyes opening to closing, that same burning symbol hovering in the distant darkness just behind your eyelids. You test it again, slower this time. No matter the speed, the moment that you feel your eyelids release their open and begin to open...the symbol appears for the briefest of moments just out of focus.   Is it real? What does it mean? In the end, Li is left with simply more questions to add to the pile...
