The Valley of Kings and Tombs
1 Plough, 2142 IR
For 5,000 years, people of all races have been coming to this valley to rule and fight. The rich valley is nearly three hundred miles across, and more than five hundred long, and home to many kingdoms. Who knows what secrets are lost or buried under the mountains and fields.
The Mountains on the eastern edge are the edge of a large range, some of the largest in the world. The parts adjacent to the valley are tall enough to have glaciers in the highest reaches, as well as lakes and alpine filling the smaller glades and plateaus. These openings, and the caves beneath them, are the home of several Dwarven clans. They fight to defend these reaches from threats on the surface, as well as below it.
The forests to the East and South are a verdant rain forest, the thick growth hiding the ruins of lost nations and races. The Elves call this place home, and maintain dark and secret roads through the shadowy depths of the forest.
The river is home to the human populations, remnants of the most recent lost empire. Many cling to their ruins, and thrive on trade that still comes along the main river. Still more have spread out through the valley, creating communities both large and small, completely oblivious to the mysteries around them.
In this distant corner of the world, adventurers gather to face the growing darkness, and find fame and fortune even as devilish and unknown forces gather in the shadows and maneuver to gain power. Only a brave few will venture far enough to learn the secrets of ...
