Anglen
As the Paltipeople grew in number, they began to look for a place to call their own. Following their roots from the old world, they traveled to the Lake and settled on a small collection of rocky islands found in the southern area of the lake. These islands rise nearly twenty feet out of the water with steep sides and flat tops. The Palti built their homes in the water around these islands, adopting a style of home raised on stilts. They did this to conserve the scant soil on the islands that is used to grow a few crops.

Wealth
The village of Anglen relies entirely on their fishing industry, and almost every inhabitant is in some way connected to the catching, harvesting, transporting, or selling of fish. As a result, with any increase or decrease in production the entire village benefits or suffers together.Government
A council of elders oversees the daily operations of the village, as well as organizing fishing expeditions. Crimes committed on the Islands are rarely brought to the Tanze; instead, the elders judge cases as they come up. Those who commit the most heinous of crimes are sent to the mainland for their final punishment, but more often than not, those who commit crimes work their punishment off through hard labor.
The Order of Olfien Is responsible for the religious well-being of the Palti people.
Industry & Trade
While there are basket-weavers, a few farmers, and shipwrights on the Islands, Anglen is the home base of the largest fishing opperation in the Valley. The islands' inhabitants rely heavily on catching, drying, and shipping fish to the mainland. They need to import metal tools and wood for their homes and ships.
Some industrious Palti have attempted to set up mining expeditions in the Mountain Walls on the far end of the Great Lake, but these are proved to be almost more trouble than they are worth.
Infrastructure
Every building, except for the homes of the Monks of Olfein, is built in the shallows around the islands. Each Island is home to a separate family group, and docks are built that allow each family to prepare and preserve the fish they have caught. Each dock has racks of drying fish.
Each Island has a method to climb to the flat surface. Some have switchback paths, while others, inaccessible to all but the most experienced climber, have wooden lifts.
Assets
Each family has their own collection of smaller boats for local travel and short-range fishing trips.
Some families are large enough to own their own long-range shipping and fishing vessels, but most families need to join with several other islands to build and run one of these larger vesseld.
