The Lawkeepers

Twice a year, on the Summer and Winter Solstices, inhabitants from across the valley gather at the Keis for the Tanze, the top court in the valley, to convict and sentence criminals and resolve personal and business disputes. The Lawkeepers hold sway over the proceedings, handing out judgement while reading the appropriate law or saying from the scrolls.

Public Agenda

The Lawkeepers hold two main goals

• To keep the laws and records of the valley.
• To ensure the fair treatment of suspected criminals and to provide an impartial judge for disputes both personal and business.

To ensure impartiality, the Lawkeepers strive to be self sufficient, growing their own crops in terraces north of their main buildings.
In the Gaole there is a stash of weapons with which all Lawkeepers are trained.
