Cinder Serpents
These reptilian creatures inhabit Hollowveil Volcano and are often found warming themselves on the hot rocks near the geothermal vents. They have tough hides that are highly resistant to fire. Coveted for their sparkling red and black hides, which resemble molten lava, these creatures are highly valued. The Emberkin of Hollowveil guard these reptiles with their lives, as they provide many essential uses to the tribe. They are scared and those caught attempt to steal or poach them are sacrificed to the Volcano.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Cinder Serpents have four legs, each with six clawed toes. They can grow up to six feet in length and weigh close to 200 pounds. Their thick hides, which sparkle with red and black patterns, are highly resistant to fire. These creatures have eerie blue eyes and heads resembling those of crocodiles..
Genetics and Reproduction
They reproduce once year during the month of the Sunken. The Female will lay a large clutch near the vents in a nest. The Eggs take sixty days to hatch with only half typically surviving.

They feast on the Flora and Fauna of Hollowveil, sometimes a small emberkin goblin will go missing,

Emberkin Goblins use some these if raised right as mounts to get around the island or help climb fior Prismflowers.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
These reptiles aren't often captured by those who do not live on Hollowveil, as they are considered sacred animals by the Emberkin Goblins. The Emberkin use them as a source of food and their hides for protection. Hides found outside the island are incredibly rare and highly prized.
