Edarr

Edarr, the son of the Sunken, is a prominent deity in the pantheon known for his dominion over storms. While his father is revered as the God of the depths and the seas, Edarr is more widely recognized for his control over the tempestuous forces of nature. His divine presence is most felt when the weather turns tumultuous, and he is called upon for aid during sudden and fierce storms.   Story:   Edarr’s reputation as the God of Storms is rooted in his dramatic and powerful nature. Unlike his father, who is often petitioned for safe voyages, Edarr’s influence is more directly associated with the fierce and unpredictable aspects of the weather. It is said that his divine power can stir the skies and command the storms with a mere thought.   Edarr’s most well-known myth involves his love for Amalee, a mortal woman whose beauty was so captivating that Edarr halted a raging storm to gaze upon her. Moved by her grace, Amalee was elevated to the status of the Goddess of Home and Hearth, becoming his eternal wife. Together, they have three daughters, each representing an important aspect of life: farming, family, and fertility.   Among the deities, Edarr is noted for his favor towards Toria, an island in the Tears of the Veil.   Prayer:   "Gracious God, my deliverer, I come to you in my time of need. Illuminate me so I might go forth in your name. I beg this of you on both my knees, giver of love. Support me with your glorious grace.   Legacy:   Edarr’s influence is felt most acutely in regions where sudden weather changes and storms are common, particularly in places like The Veil. While he may not be as commonly invoked for sailing as his father, sailors and travelers alike turn to Edarr for protection when faced with unpredictable weather.   The divine family of Edarr and Amalee, along with their daughters, forms a powerful and balanced pantheon that reflects the essential aspects of life and nature. Edarr’s role as the God of Storms underscores the importance of understanding and respecting the forces of nature, reminding followers of the power and beauty inherent in the sky and its storms.   In worship and daily life, Edarr’s presence serves as a reminder of the ever-changing nature of the world and the divine protection that guides and shields those who seek his favor.

The Storm’s Embrace is an annual celebration dedicated to Edarr, the God of Storms, observed during the peak of the storm season, typically in late summer or early autumn. The holiday serves as a tribute to Edarr’s immense power and a plea for his continued protection. Festivities begin with storm watching, where communities gather at vantage points to witness and honor the storms while offering prayers of thanks.
