Snowcradle

Snowcradles, also known as frost vaults, chill boxes, or ice vaults, are creations from GnomeTech. This device stays cold and can even keep ice. It has been widely used to prevent food from spoiling and to preserve certain herbs from wilting.
The typical Snowcradle is available in a variety of sizes and comes with a spacious interior, frostlight, runic temperature control, and a special rune locking pad to keep your pesky friends from stealing your food. They are most notably seen in bars, large taverns, noble houses, and some apothecaries.

Appearance

The Snowcradle is a chest-like structure. Its exterior is made of polished oak, while the interior contains several steel plates. The outside is usually adorned with tiny engraved snowflakes and gold filigree. The top often features a blue domed piece of glass, allowing one to see inside the chest.

Nimblespark the Artificer said it was happy accident when her misdrew a rune on the metal plating and realized the box stayed cold for many days. He slowly began adding frost gems and rune controlled tempeture system. He started freezing items one at time realzing the magic held for a very long time. The machines do require the runes be rewritten once every three years.

Access & Availability

These are easily obtained however, they can be abit pricey since they must be procured from Asharia in the Islands.

Discovery

The discovery was made on the island of Asharia as the Gnomes were trying to find ways to perserve certain foods that were to be imported to the mainland of Selenia.
