The Lost Children of Portcross

This is a dark and sad tale about the impact of Portcross's raids on the Islands of the Veil. There is a whole generation of children who have no connection to their home and no understanding of what the islands really are. Some of them are the offspring of the citizens of Portcross. The Islands are still struggling to reunite their loved ones, and peace is fragile at the moment. A network of individuals, often supported by the King of Craglands, actively works to bring those who can be brought back home. There are rumors that most people use the tunnels of Blackmount to safely reach the Craglands.
Some of the Lost do not know exactly what home is or where it is. They feel torn, knowing only the land they were born in Portcross, while their parents tell them about the beauty of the islands and try their best to pass on those traditions to them. The Lost encompass a wide range of people and races. Many of them gather together when they can. The Lost are trapped, always seeking to find where they belong in the world.
Some of the Lost have found new homes in places like Uzrash and Stormer. However, there are others who are afraid to make the journey across the sea back to their homes. The danger of Umbral Water is a risk that not everyone is willing to take when traveling across the Sea of Veil.

One way the Lost have been able to connect to the home they have not yet found is through food. The islands have several dishes in Portcross that they have found ways to make to feel connected. Hearty stews made with fish, steamed rice dishes, and sweet desserts made from mangoes are often prepared.
