The Twins

The islands are split by the great chasm that creates the Silver Straits. Zorus itself is mainly covered in grasslands and swamps and has a calm climate, which has led to a freely spread population, despite the number of people, which means most of them live in outposts. Zorus boasts a Healthy population of Minotaurs and Satyrs. There is also a thriving stretch of vineyards that can be found here among the tribes. There are two main cities on Zorus, Oxbury, Pondyard, and Bell   Across the Silver Straits, you can find Toria. The land in Toria is vastly different from its northern half Zoria. Toria to the south is craggy and cold with sharp mountains and high cliffs. The main town here is Moonmount and it's located on the edge of the Silver Straits. There are several small fishing and farming villages, such as Gloamfrost, StormBrair, Crystaltide, and HeartKeep Castle. Toria is mostly populated by humans, dwarves, and gnomes.

Topography

Zorus is a lush green landscape with rolling grasslands, swamps and marshlands. The shoreline outside of the straits is gentle like the rest of the Zorus, there are no mountains on Zorus, just rolling hills. The climate is mild and dry. The island is roughly 50 by 70 miles.   Toria is craggy and cold with sharp mountains and high ice-kissed cliffs. There are very few large areas that are flat on Toria. These areas are used strictly for farming. The villages are nestled into the cliffside or are part of the mountains themselves.

Zorus

Oxberry

Oxberry is a large outpost run by minotaurs and satyrs. It sits on the edge of the rolling hills next to the Oxberry Vineyards. Here they often train for battle and hold an annual fighting competition every year to proclaim who will become the next Master of Battle. There is a hefty gold purse provided every year and many from all over the Veil, flock here to try their hand at the arena,

Pondyard

Pondyard is a large area of interconnected swamps and marshlands, The Giff live here. They are considered mystics and are often thought to be speaking to the heavens. The Giff who reside here have never seen the Astral Plane, they only claim a deep love of the stars. Their town is simplistic; they live mostly peaceful lives. Many visits here have their futures told or see spiritual advice.

Bell

The port city of Bell sits directly on one side of the Silver Straits. Bell boasts one of the largest temples to the Mother Goddess Ygharis. The City is filled with art museums, bistros, and cafes. There are several well-known inns since many come for the annual battle every year in Oxberry. Toria

Toria

Moonmount

This City sits high upon the mountains and offers one of the clearest views of the night sky. The buildings are carved from marble and seem to blend into the sky effortlessly. Some find it difficult that most humans live here and not some long-lived race. It was said that Edarr gifted this city to his once-mortal bride Amalee as a wedding gift. In the center of town there is a large serene pool that catches the light of heaven and is considered sacred by the residents. This city is a peaceful and tranquil place.

The Fishing and Farming Villages

Along the coastline nestled into the cliffside are three villages Gloamfrost, Crystaltide, and Stormbriar. These Villages are named after three sisters each said to represent Fishing, Farming, and Family. Some say the three sisters had a secret treasure hidden if one looked in the right places. The people who live here often laugh at those who come looking for it. The villages are not poor by any means; they are thriving economies with some best fish and produce to be found, Toria is a place with harsh terrain but those who work hard are rewarded.

Heartkeep Castle

Thirteen broad, square towers have been built on various tactical spots for an ideal defense and are connected by high, massive walls made of red stone. Wide windows are scattered generously around the walls in fairly symmetrical patterns, along with small holes for archers and artillery.   A great gate with great metal doors, a regular bridge, and hot oil pots protects those in need of aid in this rough mountain pass and it's the only way in, if you can make it that is.   Huge statues of heroes and kings decorate the bridge outside, memories of glories of the past. This castle has stood the test of time, it stood it well, but cracks begin to show here and there.   Lord and Lady Heartkeep are stewards of Toria.

The Silver Straits

Zours and Toria are split by the Silver Straits. It has been theorized by mages of Stardock the Straits were created from an earthquake that split the island in half. Those of faith believe Edarr split the islands to retrieve his bride from the Under Sanctuary of Nelous. Either way the straits are only something the most seasoned of sailors make full passage of. The waters are unruly and rapid and the sharp rocky shoals have claimed mainly ships.

The Food of Twins

Zorus is known for its spicy foods, Flame buns, Four Depths Chili, Hot Cream Puffs, Sugared Minga melon cookies and Roasted Turkey in Fireberry sauce. Toria offers food from the sea and its lush farms. Salmon Stew, Fried Fish cakes, Vegetable and Lobster dumplings, Roasted potato cakes with sour cream, and Tenderized Southern-style snapper.
