Traveler's Treasure

Throughout Selenia, there are stalls along many well-traveled roads that offer a meal known as Traveler's Treasure. This food is said to come from the Islands of Veil. It's a hearty and filling option for those in need of a quick, hot meal. The stalls are easy to find, often adorned with carved magical beasts and surrounded by tiny enchanted lanterns filled with fairy lights that entice passersby with the tempting aroma of warm bread and roasted meats. Stalls are often bustling with activity all throughout the day.
The food itself is a steamed bun filled with roasted meats. The bread is slightly sweet and salty, very soft and fluffy, and gently bounces when chewed. The meat inside is usually roasted pork that has been slow-cooked for hours until it becomes tender chunks, seasoned with spices from the islands. Some stalls occasionally put a whole soft-boiled egg inside, while others prefer using succulently roasted chicken. These buns are typically prepared in large batches at the start of each day, with each stall belonging to a different family closely guarding the secret recipe. Some families even feud over who has the best recipe.

History

The island natives of the Veil, created these as easy way to feed fisherman on the go. It became quite popular as some many there way to the mainland the food began to spread.
