Arbor
God of Rest
Arbor is the God of Rest and is unique in that he carries his realm with him on his gargantuan back. Benevolently, he meanders between the planes of Dawn and Nature and seemingly often makes visits to The Veil, where he is summoned by its sleepless denizens.
Arbor’s realm has been described in a variety of holy literature, as well as by the many who believe He has visited them to bring his Realm of Rest to them. It is said to be so beautiful that Bonnie Tithing herself visits Him to lay her head from time to time.
All tales tell of sweet-smelling meadows with beds of soft grass, warm breezes blowing through blossoming trees, endless fields of lavender, and a sense of deep peace. All this is found beneath a perpetual night sky full of shining stars and encircled in its entirety by moors of wild heather and rosemary.
Rosemary grows prevalently in the Veil and it is a common rite to tie a sprig of rosemary above one’s bed to call upon Arbor for a restful night. It is said he comes to collect the rosemary to add to the moors upon his back and will let you stay a night in his realm in exchange. Many children wake to find the sprig of rosemary their parents placed above their bed at night has vanished in the morning. Lavender is found less commonly in the Veil however grows with higher frequency in and around A'mondyll and so is often used instead of rosemary as part of this tradition by those who dwell there.
