Siren
God of Lust
Siren originally was a member of The Pantheon of Enduring God’s and ruled Their domain in conjunction with the deity now known as Sensus. The pair represented the relationships forged between mortals - the ideals, bonds and commonalities that tie them together at the deepest levels.
In the early days of their Godhoods, both Siren and Sensus visited The Veil often. However, as they each spent more and more time observing the mortals who lived there, their perceptions about what their domain truly represented changed and diverged. Sensus observed the mortal’s deep capacity for love, empathy and compassion and was moved and inspired. Siren observed the mortal desire for pleasures and physical connection and was enraptured. Over aeons, the two Gods discussed the fundamental nature of their mortal subjects, and eventually were so unable to agree that they broke ties with each other and realigned themselves with their modern pantheons.
The majority of people recount this rupture as an explosive and calamitous event within the plane of the Enduring Gods, and it is said by many that the couple continue their heated dispute each year at Concordance. Some however, tell it as a quiet and sorrowful parting of the ways and that whenever they meet, both Gods still plead for the other to change their mind and return home with them. As it is told by these individuals neither deity will be whole until they have found balance with each other and found a way to repair the eternal bond they were originally supposed to represent.
Siren is depicted as a seductive and raven-haired human. Within the literature they have been represented as both male and female, often depending on the political landscape of the time, the agenda or beliefs of the author or the intended audience.
