Magua Jungle

Lore Overview

(Written by Darth Xyrijas)
The Magua Jungle is the home of many peoples that forage, hunt and lumber their way through life. Thick jungles, heavy set trees, numerous mushrooms and dank crevices full of animals. The people in the jungle are spread amongst minor settlements, villages and the occasional city. One of the more major cities in the region, Magua, which holds numerous lumber yards, holds the largest number of citizens and is what the jungle is named after. The city holds no less than three million, mostly living in the trees and underground as the soil is not suitable to hold buildings on top. Carving elevators through the thick trees, they created a city far below the ground. Natural sunlight is a rarity in these underground dwellings. Arkanian scientists bring in fake sunlights to preserve the health of the humans and Arkanians living there.
The world's natural beauty is mostly coloured in blues, purples and greens. Vibrant and luminescent colours that light up at night, causing working hours to be able to go on far later than on other worlds. The Jungle’s natural light giving leaves and fungi allow a person to see at least 90 feet at all times. This creates sleeping issues for those recently arriving, but is a blessing for those that hold strange sleep schedules. Many citizens of Dubrillion therefore experience issues when going off planet and are rarely seen outside of the planet or even outside of the jungle if that is their natural habitat.   Smaller villages actually are built in treetops and hold bridges between them held up by zero gravity generators. Their citizens live in generally luxurious and modern domiciles, yet are mostly built out of the wood they lumber in the nearby hectares of the jungles. The hardwood is a priced resource in the middle rim and the core worlds. Numerous senators in the republic have desks made out of the wood from Magua Jungle as well as several Sith lords that require a monthly delivery of planks made in the Jungle. In the depths of these strange woods lives the occasional craftsman or hunter that dedicate their lives to their crafts and push on to create the best products no matter what they do. One of these famous craftsmen makes hilts for lightsabers and vibroswords and is called Rumi Mima, originally a native of a planet that held spirituality high in its culture and an enjoyer of strange teas.   The jungles hold numerous predatory species, but most species of animals in the Jungles are harmless and care not for the humans that live amongst them. They form a rich ecosystem and are a small part of the local human diet. Mostly eating vegetables, roots and replacements for meat, the people realise their diet needs no meat and the animals help their quest to live as one with nature. Not many, however, still care for this idealism and exploit the lands around them ever since the King and his strict nobles left. The jungle is being divided into more and more fiefdoms. Seemingly, the locals can do nothing to stop the rise of the landed gentry and nobility.
