The Vyras Imperium

Long ago, when the world was new, a war between angels threatened to tear apart the universe. Six of the Maker's most beloved creations - which would come to be called the Great Heretics - fought for his favor over the mortal races. Immortal, implacable, their battles wreaked havoc on the world below, and endangered all life and civilization as we know it.   Furious with His children, the Maker banished the Great Heretics to the world below, enchanted stones called Divine Shards to be their prisons. He hid the Shards across the world, and vowed only to forgive His children when the mortal races they had endangered forgave them as well. With this, He turned His back on the mortal races, until His children - both mortal and immortal - were once again at peace.   Three thousand years later, the Vyras Imperium has become the largest mortal civilization in living memory. Raoul Gravois, the young, newly-elected Archon, will soon complete the mission that so many rulers have tried, and failed - to reunite the six Divine Shards, and free the angels imprisoned within. It is said that doing so will bring the Maker back, and heal the war-torn world. Archon Gravois possesses already five of the six Shards, but the last may be well beyond his reach...
