The orc will volunteer that information because it's part of the reason he deserted Duke Dun's Horde and it's fairly wide known: Duke Dun overplayed his hand, hoping to lure Duchess Jopvi into a trap but because trapped himself against the mountain, the armies of Loch, and Duchess Jopvi. Duke Dun decided that the only way to escape is to break off a part of his horde and use them as a distraction. For this task, he chose one of his most trust lieutenants, Zagy, but he told neither him nor the orcs picked for the mission that it was a suicide mission and that they were being sent to die.
