Mt Ker

whatever symbolic 'bonding' Mt Ker has to the two Cults is a secret kept close to the chests of Vous and Rhoda. All that is known is that, in winter, a member of the Cult of the Cat is sent to mark half a circle on the inside of the dormant volcano's caldera. In the summer, a member of the Cult of the Hawk finds the half circle and completes it.

Neither side knows the other is doing this. Obvious the Cult of the Cat can see that someone is completing their circles but they don't know why or who is doing it. And the Cult of the Hawk knows that someone is leaving the half circles but, again, thy don't know why or who is doing it.

Each have tried to send spies to monitor the area to find out (even though it is forbidden by the gods) and report strange occurances, such as falling asleep for a week, only to wake to find the circle finished or half circle left. Or a heavy mist that falls, preventing them from finding out who left the mark.
