Cleaver
Sekhmet
We spent a few weeks winding down, taking care of the Drakes, and waiting for Flimp's return. He soon came back and when asked he said he has a new house. Some of us meet up and decide to investigate a bounty for a woman named Sekhmet, some necromancer from the eastern lands who amassed an undead army. We talked to Juliannos and Copper Penny and got more info about her, alongside the shady Jon who I attempted to barter with but was forcibly removed by Arwin.
Sekhmet is at a graveyard around 6 hrs east. We purchase some gear and figure out a number of past ordeals and then head out to kill this witch.
Arwin infuses me with necrotic resistance.
I test out the ring and after some spellcasting it burns deeply and a black ichor begins to eat away at it. I also begin to have an itch to remove it but for the time manage not to. Immediately after testing, an Obsidian Overlord cultist approaches us with info on a Cleric we may find at Sekhment's base. He also answers some questions about his lord and the order of this cleric who is from the order of renewal.
After a long rest we rise and begin heading towards the cemetary, on the way we find a small camp that seems to have been mostly packed up. It has a banner of the order the cultist said was here, I decided to pick it up in case the cleric would like it back. We find some tracks that lead to the squire of the cleric who mentions he was on his way back to a temple to get reinforcements.
We soon march onward and begin the fight, lets hope I do not fall to the Iron Lord.
A Touch of Theatrics
We go to the far chair inn to meet with Trevor to discuss with him his request.
Before this, we reunite with Drix and meet Lok's replacement a ghost in a shell named Arwin.
Trevor invites us into the card room and after some introductions and hijinks, Trevor addresses us.
He has a request to locate and capture a drake to assist in finishing the play he is writing. He wishes to please a patron of his and needs to finish this to continue being funded.
I had some discussions with party members about social tact and I think I learned a lot from them.
The key points I was told were:
1. Break the ice with introductions and casual discussion
2. Do not overshare my past with people
3. Watch people to learn their own desires and ways of discussion.
We wake up and go into the territory of the Drake and begin searching for it.
We are given tools to take the drake down, and Trevor is put out as bait for it.
The creature flies down and we begin bombarding it with snares and nets to bring it down, Gravy Lips Flimp and Trevor all vie for control since this is a ladder match now according to Gravy Lips. GL ties Trevor to it and Torvan is observing in disdain. Wren casts a spell that I had not seen him cast up till this point but he seems up to no good.
After an extended back and forth, Gravy Lips beats out Trevor and Flimp and tames the Drake.
GL, Wren, Torvan, and Trevor head home some flying the drakes. Flimp pulled a card from a deck and begins walking somewhere we attempt to follow but he seems to want to be left to his devices. Drix, me, and Arwin soon also head home.
A Giant Problem
I am learning humor and the title is rather humorous to me. Ha Ha Ha
This week we did another smaller job this time for the Elder, who requested for us to investigate a village that was attempting to settle nearby but who we lost contact with a week ago. This village is found just south of Riverun and is going by the name Helgen. After yet another failed attempt to meet the Elder we go into town and conduct some business. We have Alembic bleed and skin the Horned Devil for us. The blood will be used to improve new weapons Bujad forges and the skin is for Flimp to make some new clothing piece to match his werewolf tux and other peculiar clothing pieces. I also purchase a Ring of Evil Warding from Logan to keep me from losing myself again. With that we leave to investigate the village.
At Helgen we find a lot of damage, and after some investigation I mark it up to giants, however Gravy Lips is certain it was rocks which does not make sense to me. We yell out hoping to find survivors and a man named Brynjalf comes out who confirms my suspicion of giants. He directs us towards the giant camp and we follow the trail left by the giant. Once there we attempt commumication but are assaulted and after dispatching the first hill giant Gravy Lips scouts the camp and gives us intel. We move forward and are confronted by another two hill giants I feel the Ironlord beginning to creep in but the ring seems to stave him off for a time giving a sharp stinging pain. The two hill giants retreat and we are confronted by their lord, Lord Argon a fire giant who seems to be from some far away kingdom of xenophobic isolationist fire giants. I am a bit confused about him being here and fraternizing with hill giants but he did not explain. We discuss how this area and some nearby lands are his domain and after some minor diplomatic discussion and a promise to stay away we take the villagers out and back to Riverrun. Back home I finally meet the Elder who hears me out and reasonably is suspicious of me. We explain the situation and are told Trevor was looking for us.
A Warforged Conspiracy
Part 1
I met some new employers or I should say friends? I am new to this idea and unsure what to call them. I met them when they returned to The Bogfather a magical artifact and was paid very well, so much that I was tasked with assisting them in bringing their money to their home. I continued to follow them around town looking for a new employer, the Bogfather found out about this and that was not good, but alas that is later. The new friends decided to free Greg which went horribly wrong. I asked around the caravan and my kin took it as malfunctioning so I was imprisoned where I attacked some kin and was taken to the torture chamber.
Part 2
In the chamber The Bogfather confronted me about my betrayal of him and his kindness, I apologized and after an explosion, my guards left me allowing me to escape. I asked Trevor where to find my friends and he told me to go to the outskirts, so I walked to them and met Wren who guided me to a cave for the time being. I eventually was met by the gang and was told to shut up and run I did so and eventually we got fire bombed and was heavily harmed we continue running from the automoton that is currently assaulting us.
A.R.M.O.R, The Shadow Fangs, and An Enchanted Time
A.R.M.O.R
A lot happened during this adventure, as we saved Greg from the Bogfather's capture. The Bogfather was expectedly angry and sent his experimental automaton and upgraded war forged after us. This A.R.M.O.R possessed incredible abilities, namely the ability to move incredibly fast using its quicksilver core alongside a ball-bearing launcher and some kind of artillery built into its back. It was rather intimidating and in some ways demoralizing as it was an improved version of my kind. Eventually after defending ourselves from the warforged construct and after returning from my relentless hunt as it escaped, we sent Greg away to Lok's temple and Ashi went home to process the trauma and refuel. The rest of us stayed away from town for a period of a few weeks and I stayed near Lok who attempted to teach me some formalities.
The Shadow Fangs
After a few weeks, we return to town to regroup and figure out where to go next. Ashi is still away at home as she has to figure some things out before she returns. In her place, a stranger joins us named Drix who is a peculiar individual with strange behaviors and quirks. While he looks to be a human he seems to be lost in some ways and wanting of some lost loved one. We met him at the notice board when we were trying to pick up a new job that was simple but intriguing. We follow up on the request to avenge a widow's husband's death and return the head of the leader of a bandit group named The Shadow Fangs. While there me and Drix loot some enchanting stones and gold, and shortly after we have a confrontation I unfortunately do not remember where I apparently threatened Drix and attempted to murder some surrendering bandits. This confrontation was the first of my party seeing His power overtake me, and for that I am embarrassed. I do not wish to seem like a malicious being and actively want to help others but the party seems to think otherwise.
When we return we are rewarded with money from the widow who we refuse and instead ask if we can have her cottage, Lok and Flimp give her some more money and we have a new home of sorts.
An Enchanted Time
After a meeting with the captain of the guard Copperpenny and a failed attempt to talk to the elder and earn his respect, we are given a letter addressed to us from the Bogfather. We are invited to have a talk with him on our terms at a location we choose. We discuss this and choose the burnt-down mansion on the edge of the town. Before we have that meeting Drix confronts me about my behavior and I explain the situation and we attempt to test the limits to which I can maintain myself. I awake soon after seeing a somewhat severely injured Drix after I lost myself to Him. One strange thing was that Drix seemed to bleed a small amount which is concerning. While I am suspicious of Drix I welcome the concern and care they seem to have for me. After resting for the night we reconvene the next day to confront The Bogfather.
We meet at the founder's mansion and are met by The Bogfather, A.R.M.O.R, and Silvanus. Silvanus serves as our mediator and was the one we met and had relay our time and location for this discussion to The Bogfather. We discuss payment for the damages we caused and my severance package and we wittle it down and I received 4000 gold for my time under the Bogfather's employment.
We then decide to go meet an enchanter to use the stones we retrieved at the Shadowfang camp. There we meet a female Goliath named Draapa who is uneasy about us until she sees the work of Bujad a friend of hers and Riverru's Blacksmith. The enchantments are an expensive ordeal and while Drix offers to work for their pay Draapa requires money from me and Lok who also requested enchanted gear. Lok pays for both theirs and mine alongside the large amount of weed we found as it is valuable to Draapa, a frequent consumer of the stuff. For Drix's payment, we go kill a Horned Devil to collect its parts. We find a cave that is covered in sulfur and exploded by Flimp. We go in and find evidence of people being in here likely killed by Flimp's fireball. We find a summoning circle that takes us to the Nine Hells where we confront and kill the Horned Devil. We push it into our portable hole and leave as a mob of devils rushes us. I lost myself during this fight as well and while I tried my best not to and minimized the use of my powers I still failed, which could of ended in my death or hurt my new friends. We return and give Draapa her parts and are told to return in a few weeks to receive our weapons. We then return to Riverrun to discuss our next move.
