Annelyn Vergolden is a female human and a minor noble from the Duchy of Stillvault. Her father, the family's patriarch, has recently insulted the patriarch of the Whitvalor family, the Vergolden's rivals as well as neighbors, resulting in a duel to the death being demanded by this slight. Faced with a duel against Tam Whitvalor, thought to her to be a most accomplished swordfighter, she resorted to spending her last few days in the Panoramic Bear Tavern.
Her issues were resolved when a mysterious man dubbed The Bonecrusher fought with Tam Whitvalor a few days before the arranged duel, breaking the man's fighting arm and making him incapable of attending, allegedly leaving Tam's younger, fifteen-year old brother to attend it in his place.
