Sir Elman Clearguard
Elman Clearguard is a human male, and the former mayor of Drywood.
As the mayor of the port town of Drywood, Elman Clearguard runs the town's day-to-day affairs where necessary. For him, this mostly concerns conflict between the town's interest and that of the Adyrian Trading Company. As chief justice of Drywood, he is likewise responsible for the punishment of criminals. The mayor presides over more important cases; that is, anything deemed worthy of more consequence than a mere fine.
His rule has not been host any particularly significant events, although some would say that he is a little too cozy with his former guild, still, even if nobody dares publicly accuse such a respected man of corruption.
As of recently, his assistant and close friend, Hedar Kev, was exposed as a necromancer by a group of three newcomers to the island, together with the local miners and a group of Adyrians under the Commodore Esher Nenna, and Elman was forced to resign, exiled from Drywood.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
A moderately tall man with wide shoulders and some muscle to his build. His walk is sometimes 'off' as a result of chronic back pains caused by the heavy lifting required from his former occupation.
Apparel & Accessories
Considering himself a rather stylish man, Elman Clearguard dresses in garish clothing made of only the finest fabrics available in Drywood (or rather, imported to it), paired with similarly fancy boots and a far too shiny wedding ring.

Personal history
Born into a craftsman's family in Drywood, Elman Clearguard has never strayed far from his town of birth. From an early age onwards he learned all about the craftsmanship involved in the creation of ships and would work on shipbuilding for well over two decades, a member of the Shipbuilder's Guild at that.
When the previous mayor passed away of old age, roughly a decade ago, Elman was his guild's preferred candidate for the position, and with little objection from anyone in town to the idea, he was instated as such several weeks later.
Employment
In the past, Elman worked as a shipbuilder, before taking on various more administrative duties within the Shipbuilder's Guild, which eventually led into his nomination for the position of mayor of Drywood.
Intellectual Characteristics
Elman Clearguard is known by his people to be a just man, who seems to uphold Drywood's interests above all other matters. While amicable enough, he keeps his personal life to himself and out of public sight. He does, however, insist on being addressed with 'sir', despite not being born of nobility.
