Saint Clover

Saint Clover (a.k.a. Big Friendly Clover)

Clover was an activist for equality within the Obsidian Empire. Spanning from 1235 AP to 1439 AP, her tireless efforts and unwavering determination forced the Empire to confront its deep-rooted prejudices and implement significant reforms. Despite her untimely assassination by an unknown noble family, Clover's legacy endures, with many within the Empire unofficially elevating her to the status of a revered figure and champion of equality.

Early Life and Awakening

Clover was born in the year 1235 AP, during a time when racial tensions and inequality were deeply entrenched within the fabric of the Obsidian Empire. Growing up in a society that regarded halflings and other non-human races as second-class citizens, Clover witnessed firsthand the injustices and discrimination that permeated every aspect of daily life.   From an early age, Clover possessed a strong sense of fairness and an unwavering belief in the inherent worth and dignity of all individuals, regardless of their race or lineage. Her compassionate nature and indomitable spirit set her on a path that would challenge the status quo and inspire generations to come.

Advocacy and Reforms

Clover's advocacy work began in the shadows, as she quietly organised small gatherings and meetings to discuss the issues faced by marginalised communities within the Empire. She sought to educate others about the importance of equal rights, dispelling myths and prejudices that perpetuated the divide between races.   As her influence grew, Clover became a prominent voice in the fight for equality. Through passionate speeches, thought-provoking writings, and relentless activism, she garnered support from like-minded individuals across the Empire. Her message resonated with both oppressed communities and empathetic members of the ruling class who recognized the need for change.   Clover's efforts led to the implementation of significant reforms within the Empire. She played a pivotal role in dismantling discriminatory laws, advocating for fair treatment of non-human races in matters of law, employment, and social interactions. The government, faced with mounting pressure and public support, reluctantly began to acknowledge the need for a more inclusive society.

Assassination and Legacy

Tragically, Clover's relentless pursuit of equality made her a target for those who resisted change. In the year 1439 AP, she was assassinated by an unknown noble family, driven by fear and the desire to maintain their privileged position within society. Her untimely death sent shockwaves throughout the Empire, igniting outrage and grief among those who had embraced her vision of a more just and inclusive realm.   Clover's assassination, instead of extinguishing her legacy, further elevated her status within the hearts and minds of the people. Unofficially revered as a symbol of resistance and hope, she became an icon of the ongoing struggle for equality. Many began to regard her as a saint, attributing miraculous events and acts of justice to her posthumous influence.

The Legacy Lives On

Even after her death, Clover's legacy endures. Her teachings and writings continue to inspire generations of activists, scholars, and leaders within the Obsidian Empire. Her vision of a united and equal society, where all races and species are valued and respected, remains an aspiration for many.   Throughout the Empire, statues and memorials have been erected in her honour, serving as reminders of her courage and the ongoing struggle for equality. Annually, on the anniversary of her assassination, communities gather to commemorate her life and reaffirm their commitment to her ideals.   Clover's story is a testament to the power of a single individual's conviction and the profound impact they can have on the course of history. Her legacy reminds us that the fight for equality and justice is an ongoing journey, one that requires unwavering dedication and collective effort.
