Artossans (Are - toss - ans)
The term Artossan refers to the indigenous people of the nation called Artossa, which would come to be a region in the southeastern part of Drakr. The Artossans are an ethno-religious group identified by their ethnicity but unified by common religious beliefs. Artossan people are most definitely distinguished by their red eyes which persist as a dominant genetic trait.

Red is the color of life, and the color of death. Red is sight, knowing, loving, missing, mourning, and promises. Red is the living blood of the desert.
In the desert, rain is important. Sacred. A gift from Amon to Their children. There are prayers and songs to bring rain, dances performed under the first drops.
Funerary and Memorial customs
Dying under the blue sky, under the watch of Amon is the preferred way to pass. Family and friends of the deceased keep vigil. Instead of black, red is the color of mourning.
Common Taboos
All life is seen as a precious gift of Amon. They are commanded not to kill without reason.
The most contentious point of of the Artossan religion is its rejection of theurgy. They consider it a practise based in sacreligious hubris, perverting the natural creations of Artossa.
