Bardic Guild

The establishment of the bardic guild halls is a relief to all in an area. For the bards because they have a place to gather, practice their arts, and be appreciated for their skills. For everyone else because it gets the bard out of singing and reciting poetry on street corners and in taverns. Guild hall leaders are masters of their craft and love to teach others their talents. Each hall is independent of the others but membership is seen as a guarantee for any bard, but that membership comes with no benefits other than entrance into the guild hall proper. The back offices, dormitories, and shop discounts are reserved for prestige members. To gain prestige status, one must either pay 2000 gold or do something so grand that it has become the center tale of another bard’s epic poem or song. Rarely does the second rule come to bear as most bards only wish to tell of their own exploits, or those of others long past. Prestige status holds sway in the guild halls where it was earned and all others deem it as unsupported prestige, gaining you access to the dormitories but nothing else. If prestige status is gained by epic acts of glory, eventually all guild halls will honor that status after word of your deeds have reached all guild hall master's ears, usually after one year.
