Relic Hunters

Due to the drastic changes that have effected the Wode, many important and powerful artifacts and tomes have been lost. Many historians and powerful individuals have sought these lost tokens of knowledge or power. Over the years, a profession has sprung up around the hunt for these items. Most that join this profession due it for the money, as the items being sought are usually being sought by a rich benefactor. A few do it to find the items for themselves. Even smaller amount do it for glory, fame, or excitement. Often at odds with the witch Hunter guild, they are seen as dangerous and courting a new apocalypse. Most relics are never found, and often the hunter dies in the attempt, and this has caused the general population to look down up in them as being stupid treasure hunters. Most of these hunters live on the fringes of society and are little more than bounty hunters with knowledge. A few very successful hunters have found multiple artifacts and have made names for themselves among the higher society types. A few have managed to find the relic only to be killed by a witch Hunter trying to keep that relic from causing some catastrophe. The most famous finds have been little more than trinkets of past eons. The non famous finds however have been of extreme power or important tomes.
