The Taming
In the Year BY+35, a group of elves, gnomes, and humans felt that if they brought the orc tribes into some state of “civility” that life in the Wode would be easier. They convinced many important leaders to allow them to try. The first step they decided was to formalize the worship of the orc deities into temples. They did this by building temples in the orc lands and then kidnapping orc children to raise at these temples. They also built a fortress in orc territory to act as a new capital for the “soon to be established” orc kingdom. About the only things that came of this experiment was war and alot of half-orc children. Many of the people that were sent to “tame” the orc, were committing terrible acts of cultural genocide. After 26 years, Ugh himself led an army of his children, the size of which was unseen upon the wode before or since, to purge the land of outsiders. He spared the Shroom Citadel and Waypoint of Truce because dwarves and fluffies had not participated in the atrocities. He also left the temple to himself and the Fire Castle as they had already been taken by half-orcs, and he viewed them as innocents to the crimes of war. The war raged for years and many orc died along the way. Eventually they managed to even invade the elven lands. A peace was then negotiated with the orcs returning to their lands and the outsiders being banned from meddling in orc affairs.
