The Great Herunet Oasis
"And behind those walls, my dear, there is an Oasis, vast and beautiful. The animals live there and go into the water. Our forefathers hace seen the Gods themselves rise up from it and point them to the Stones. They helped us build Herunet, the greatest city of all. That Oasis belongs to the gods and anyone who meddles with the balance there, will be punished."
The Herunet Oasis is the single largest body of water in the East of Nubelea. It lies near Herunet, the capital of Nubelea. The legends tell of early farmers seeing gods walk out of them and pointing the humans to stones to build Herunet. It is a place of worship and holy matters. However, some Pharao's disregard the gods and call it their own and do with it as they please. Inexplicably, they all die of mysterious matters. The Herunet river leads out into the Blue Sea.
Geography
The Oasis is a lush, green, beautiful place. Filled to the brim with life and happiness. It is most easy described as a large pool of water surrounded by green and fields for cultivating vegetables and fruits. A river leads to the sea.
Fauna & Flora
The Oasis has had a decrease in many of it's species, wether animals or plants. The Nubeleans have made sure that the Oasis is exactly as they wanted it to be. Yet, the Oasis is so large that they cannot exterminate all the animals. Fish, frogs and crocodiles, hippos still roam it and make their home. Humans irrigated it to grow plants like apricots, dates, figs, and olives. They grow palms of all sorts.
Natural Resources
The Nubelean people have made it onto a place for many to live. Herunet is a city that holds nearly half a million citizens. They are all fed by the food grown there, so the Oasis feeds them all. The water feeds the plants, which in turn feed people and animals alike, which then feed the humans.
