Blackspire

Blackspire is the largest city on the continent of Coriss. It gets its name from the large black stone tower in the center of the city. It is older than the city itself, and no one really knows who built it. It has been the seat of Human power for generations. Tall and imposing, it can be seen from miles away from the city. The city itself sprawls across the green fields at the northern foot. The city's walls are tall and thick, and has withstood for centuries. The city has never fallen. The city is divided up into the inner city (within the inner wall) and the outer city (within the taller outer wall). The outer city spreads to the sea, where there is a large bustling seaport. The outer city is also home to the great Sun blaze Bazaar, a melting pot of the world's finest goods. There is something for everyone in the outer city, with its many diverse districts and monuments. The inner city holds the tower and the royal palace, along with the temple of the Three Maidens and the Precept Lyceum Encarta (the center of learning in the known world).
The Merek family have ruled over Coriss in this city for many generations, and continue to do so. The Royal family and court live in the inner city in the palace. King Enton has been trying to reach out and mend relationships with the elves of the north and the dwarves of the east. Although at peace, there is still tension from past aggression, and human expansion.
