The world has many routes of supernatural powers, from the Gifts of the Fera, to the Disciplines of the Kindred. However the use of the concept of 'magic' is generally reserved for the particuarly unnatural expression of reality altering some humans (and limited other species) practice.
This comes in two forms:
Static magic is a learned and practiced skill that can tap into predefined traditions and practices worn through reality and time. It is limited in capability but available to any mortal with the right expertise. There are many names for practitioners of this, but the most encompassing is Sorcerer.
Dynamic magic is rare and not well understood, what is known is that when the rare human gains access to it they are capable of altering reality at its very core, in ways nearly no other being in any world is known to be capable of. Those who practice this are most commonly known as Mages.
