Paul, ever the conspiracy theorist, — whose pseudonym is “Redwood” discovered enough evidence about vampires to start
defending himself from their possible attacks. He reached out to a paramilitary hunter group to gain their trust. On some occasions, he even brought his daughter Michelle along.
A vampire named Walter Nash started attending the same hunter bar as Redwood, mainly for the thrill of standing among his enemies, but he gained a predatory desire for Redwood’s daughter, as he had for many young women before her. Without Redwood’s knowledge, Nash and Michelle met up one night and the vampire drained her to the point where she was left in a coma. This was not Nash’s first victim left in such a condition.
Redwood put two and two together and sought to ruin Nash’s existence. Rather than merely killing the Ventrue, he accumulated evidence of Nash’s misdeeds and extorted information from him regarding Kindred society, the Beast, and other knowledge both real and fictional, created by Nash. Redwood only ever approached Nash via letter, call, or discreet message. Thus, the vampire never connected his blackmailer to the father of the girl he sent to hospital.
He proceeded to gain leverage over several local Kindered, including the coterie. This proved a fatal error, as they killed/evaded the hunters and, ultimately, led Gary to murdering Paul JR.
The patriarch of the prototypical nuclear family with a deep interest in the conspiratorial. Used his resources to extort multiple Kindred across Detroit after his daughter was murdered by Walter Nash.
