Y5 D18 Report

General Summary

Alger is faced with some strange creatures attempting to take the gold he and Conord had been mining. Unfortunately, Conord had been stricken by some kind of sickness that caused his mind to break, most likely due to the closed in space of the mining he was doing with Alger. Possibly even Gold Fever! He was unable to do anything without Alger's help for a few days, however, he was still able to follow instruction. Conord was not the only one with Gold Fever, as that night a portal opened nearby, admitting four shadows in the night. Moments later, Alger heard a horn begin to play and a voice in the night shouted, "I Smell GOLD!". It offered Alger his life in exchange for the gold he had mined, giving them 5 seconds to decide. Alger's response was to instruct Conrod to make a War Cry. The large of the beasts had a War Cry of his own and charged Alger. Alger fought off the strange goat like humanoids, with Conord's limited assistance due to his sickness, though Conord did kill one of the creatures. Alger killed the other two with one escaping via unknown means. Merios attempted to swim across rough waters for a few miles. That didn't go well with his limited physical stature and lack of swimming experience. He saw land on the other side before being swept down the beach by a rip tide only to drown in the ocean...He found himself washed up on strange shores, coughing up copious amounts of water.
Titus cut down some trees. Tanaros studied some language tablets and found some extra clay. Darcinogen found his way back to town and trained with his dagger. That night, Darci brought some strange luck with him as an unseasonable meteor touched down near Sage's Hollow.
Silver finishes building a large cage trap and then attempts to track a new spider friend. This spider was a bit out of his league when he specifically sought out the most dangerous spider he could find. Silver sang to the creature, which soothed it a bit, but when he attempted to befriend the beast, he broke the spell of the song. Silver attempted to defend himself by creating a structure of Earth and a pit of Mud. Hiding within his Earthen shell, Silver knew not what he faced, when suddenly, from above, the creature snatched Silver into some unknown realm where the trees and ground seemed real but his own flesh seemed to be made of shadow. His walls were no longer there and he could see the spider, which seemed to be made of the same shadow as he. Silver tried to cast spells but his words and gestures were of shadow. A few moments passed when the spider disappeared from his view, and then all at once he was back in the normal realm and much more tired. The spider struck Silver with his stinger and Silver was paralyzed. He died to the venom and attacks from the spider moments later...He awoke within a cocoon a day later.
