The Second Forzorian Empire

The Second Forzorian Empire, often referred to as The Forzorian Empire or simply The Empire, is the principal power of The Continent. Founded nearly a millennia Years ago, the Second Empire has over a Millennia risen from a backwater ruin on the edge of the former Tekederian Empire, to a Capital of Scientific Advancement, Military Strength, Economic Power and Diplomatic Control.
"The Empire is forged on a foundation of War, Revolt and the Force of one Man's will, it will take far more them some simple conflict to end it, it will take the effort of a great many combined factors akin to an army of gods, I must make sure these factors never come to join together"   -Emperor Flavius VII, to his advisors after being coronated

A Early History of an Empire

Early Inhabitants

Where the first people entered what we now know as the Forzorian Heartlands, and when is not exactly known, the most common myth state that the Forzor people came from across the sea in great ships when they colonized the coast, while the Stull people had always lived there. Whatever the truth of the matter is, by the time both groups had settled, their territory was set in stone. The costal region, and the territory around the Emerald Lake, named so for the rare and valuable emerald deposits on the lakes western shore, were controlled by the Forzor people who had adopted Feudalism and organized around a loose confederation. The rest of the region was controlled by the tribal Stullmen, who practiced black magic, hiding deep within the forests as they waged periodic war against each other and the Forzor.
The two groups held a bloody rivalry, the Forzor always trying to drive the Stullmen from the forest and harness their ancient magic, while the Stullmen often tried to slaughter the Forzor and in their eyes reclaim lost land. Despite this bloody rivalry, it was an uncommon, but very real sight to see the Forzor and Stullmen to work together in some capacity. Several of the younger and smaller Noble houses commonly traded with and even intermarried with less hostile Stull tribes, while older families often left enemy prisoners as sacrifices to the Stull as to not have their magic turned towards them. However the single greatest and most famous example of both groups working together, was when the Tekederian Empire came to them.

Tekederian Empire

In the year of 400 BIC(Before Imperial Coronation), the Tekederian Empire launched its Great Western Expedition into the modern Imperial Heartlands, it was faced with a united coalition of the Forzor Nobles and Stullmen Tribes, who used countless tricks and the power of Blood Magic to face the invasion head on, however it would be the Battle on the Emerald Shore, where the united coalition army would be completely destroyed, that would finally see the region subjugated. Following the destruction of the Coalition, the region fell under the total control of Tekederian Empire, with the establishment the Imperial Governorate and later Imperial March of Forzoria. The March would be split into 16 smaller Feudal territories, ruled over by Royal Dukes and an Imperial Governor. 13 of the Families would be made up of local Forzor nobility, or at least those that survived the war and swore oaths of allegiance, the other 3 Families would be Noble Tekederian Houses that had fallen out of favor in the Capital and were given a practical exile to the edge of Imperial territory, an intense rivalry developed between the two ethnic family groups, but with the military and economic dominance of the Tekederian Empire, the Forzor Families were forced to be subservient to their Tekederian rivals and make use of underhanded tactics and policies to maintain control of their land.
The Rule of the Tekederian Empire would bring about several major changes to the region, with Imperial Forces destroying the Stull Tribes and establishing a vast road network connecting the entire province together and with the rest of the Empire. The Destruction of the Stull would lead to the Forzor Noble families taking in Stull refugees, leading to a great amount of mixing between the Stull and Upper Class of Forzorian Society. The shamans of the Stull would find employ as Court Witches, wielding the Dark Blood Magic of their people in secret. Soon the identities of the Forzor and Stullmen would merge into what many consider the true predecessor to the modern Forzorian culture, a name assigned to both groups by the Tekederian Authorities, as to ease ruling the region.
The Empire would also establish the Citadel of Westliches Tor, a massive fortress that guarded the great highway leading in and out of the Province, with it serving as the Capital of the March, being far from the centers of power of the Forzorian Families, made it hard to keep the families chained and watched over, especially those located along the western coast. This fortress served a second purpose though, Tekederian tradition demands all fortresses along any road be payed taxes and fees for all goods carried past its walls, meaning the Provincial Governors grew fat and rich, but most importantly they focused more on these trade goods instead of keeping the 13 Forzorian families in line, allowing rebellion to grow and fester right underneath the Empires nose.
Another major change was that of the regions economy, before hand the region's natural resources were mostly unexploited, but after the arrival of the empire, it found new found wealth. The forests of Forzoria were filled with valuable lumber, rare limestone, gold mines and a rare breed of horse that thrived in secret groves within the woods. The rapid economic investment from the empire allowed plenty of opportunity for the Forzorian nobles grow rich, and drew in more and more of the Empire resources from elsewhere.

Rebellion

Tekederian Rule over Forzoria would finally be challenged in the open during the year 265 BIC, when a crisis would began to fracture the Empire from the very fringe all the way to the Capital itself. Princep Callitus III would pass without a legal heir, and soon the Empire would be divided in a bloody and chaotic civil war between his 4 younger brothers and bastard daughter, bringing chaos across the Empire, with provinces along the fringe starting to breakaway or collapse into total anarchy, it would be this anarchy that the Forzorian families would finally make their move to break free.
Long in Secret, hiding deep within the shadows of the Provinces nobility, Merchant class and Peasantry were hundreds of secret societies. These Societies varied from small social clubs that floated the ideas of independence as a hypothetical, to actively working towards it by arming Secret Armies, turning Bandits on the Tekederian authority, and assassinating important figures. The Strongest and oldest society was the Alois Society, named after the extinct Forzor noble family that first organized the United Coalition to oppose the invasion.
The Taldarius Society would kick off their rebellion in the most shocking and dramatic fashion they could think of, the Governor was assassinated within his own fortress, Secret armies were deployed against the Imperial Army, Rebel forces loyal to the 13 Forzor Families clashed with the Tekederian Noble Families. The chaos would end in 260 BIC, when Heinrich Kaldin, the undisputed most powerful Forzorian noble defeated the last united Tekederian force and would, after summoning the Nobles, powerful Merchant families, and the Alois Society for a great conclave in the ruins of the Fortress of Westliches Tor, be declared the First Emperor of the Forzorian Empire, officially asserting the regions complete independence from the rapidly collapsing Tekederian Empire.
The young empire would spend the next 3 years repealing Tekederian factions attempting to reclaim the province and hunting down the last remnants of the Tekederian Imperial Army and noble families, crushing the last remnants in the flooding of a old emerald mine cavern , the Tekederian empire would never again return, its collapse entering the final stage as only the core region would remain under some form of Tekederian nation state. And the New Forzorian Empire began the long road of redefining itself in this new world.

The 12 Warring States

The Young Empire would only last 13 years, Emperor Heinrich struggled and ultimately failed to produce an heir, leading to the extinction of his family and dissolution of his empire into 12 feuding States, each headed by a separate Forzorian Family. These families would be: The Daggerovs, Sollis, Mansteins, Webers. Meyers, Acuelos, Catullus, Beckers, Krugers, Werners, Roths and Wolffs. Each family would, unlike the rest of the Forzorian peoples, posses a singular eye color, not the double eye color of the common Forzorian , this unique trait is believed to be inherited from a mix of Tekederian and Forzorian Noble blood along with Shamans from the the Stullmen. Some examples would be the Crimson Red of the Daggerovs, The Imperial Purple of the Mansteins, The Gold of the Sollis or the Muddy Brown of the Beckers. It's believed that the eye color is directly correlated to the fate of the family line as a whole, if ancient Stullmen legends are to be believed.
The period would be marked with ever changing borders, Rampant growth of underground smuggler rings and the formation of smaller Bandit and Mercenary fiefdoms that took advantage of the instability to grow rich off merchant pay and stolen goods. This would lead to a lopsided amount of power allocated to the merchant class as Major Cities became their own fiefs and trade routes became battlegrounds and centers of Merchant wars. Such a status lead to the noble families marrying more into the merchant families instead of each other, creating a strange power balance within the region. Emperor Augustus I himself would marry the only daughter of a powerful merchant house, bringing in a staggering amount of wealth to his family and their lands.
The Age of the 12 Warring States would end in the year 48 BIC, when the Daggerovs defeated the Wolff Family, destroying them in the Battle of the Caverns. The head of the Daggerov family proclaimed himself King Leonhard I of Forzoria, earning international interest as the western edge of the known world had found itself a new pillar of peace and prosperity, leading to potential expeditions into the western seas, famed for its calmer waters and legends of ocean going settlers colonizing the western coast, if the origins of the Forzors are to be believed. This optimism and peace of the Daggerovs would not last though, after 20 years of rule, Leonhard I would die of a sudden disease, and pass his title to son and heir Leonhard II, a notably cruel and paranoid boy, Leonhard would oversee the creation of a Secret Police and formed an alliance with the ancient assassins of Fraum, using them to eliminate his enemies. This age of paranoia and murder would come to ahead after 3 years, where he launched a massive operation across the kingdom, killing almost every member of the other Noble Families, major and minor, with Augustus Manstein and his infant son surviving and learning the truth of the mass murders. Augustus I's Wife Lara and sister Justina were killed during the mass purge, leading to him vowing a blood oath of revenge.
The Mansteins would launch a civil war, fighting the Daggerovs for 5 long years until the final confrontation at the Siege of Blackmont, the citadel of the Daggerov family. It was here that Augustus would demonstrate his Family's ruthlessness by ordering the execution of every single Daggerov, with no exceptions. The event would become known as the Sacrifice upon the Black Stone, with Augustus performing an ancient Stullmen revenge ritual and blood sacrifice, bleeding each one dry upon the Black Stone Table, a well crafted stone table that became a war map of the heartlands. Following the Sacrifice, Augustus would task a contingent of 100 soldiers to watch over the castle, for a reason that remains unknown. Augustus would, upon returning to his home, declare himself King.

The Reign of Augustus

For the next 20 years, Augustus would launch several expeditions into the modern provinces bordering the Heartland, conquering local kingdoms, tribes and the Ancient Republic of Valstov, from where Moldexia is now administered. It was after these conquests and destroying a massive Bandit army that attempted to bring about chaos across his kingdom, that he took the final step towards his ascension. King Augustus was coronated, in a grand ceremony where dozens of religious officials from every Religion across his kingdom attended and officiated it, as Emperor Augustus I of the Forzorian Empire, the Lion of Ancients, successor of the Kaldins and Alois, Master of the West, and The Great Liberator. It was after this ceremony the new Empire was born, and the groundwork laid for the continents superpower.
During the Reign of Augustus, he rewarded the formal lands and titles of his rivals to his close allies, commanders and old friends. But he also planned a system to maintain his families position after his death, All major highways and trading ports were kept under direct control of the Crown, the assassins of Fraum destroyed and in its place a private army of Assassins, Spies, Soldiers and Guardians for the Imperial family were formed, the predecessors for the modern Imperial Guard. Augustus also instituted massive land reform, granting a vast amount of farm land not to noble families, but to vast estates owned by a newly forming middle class of farming families, who would over the centuries shrink and break up into thousands of families running small plots of private farmland, which they got to keep as long as a portion of what they grow is given to the crown directly as a tax.
Augustus would also organize the Imperial Army, requiring each Noble Family to provide a percentage of their forces to the crown, along with City Militias and Guards organized into regional branches of the army. Augustus assembled a small, and rather weak Imperial Fleet, which faced a great many of challenges as there was little need for ships in the past centuries in Forzoria, so the fleet often sat in port, looking pretty. Augustus also laid the ground work for the Modern Home Army, appointing a trusted commander with the power to call upon the levies of his vassals if enemy soldiers ever set foot in Forzoria when he was away on campaign.
Augustus I would pass away in his sleep, at the age of 89 in the year of 21 IE(Imperial Era), a grand funeral ceremony would be held in his families' ancestral lands, where he was buried in the ancient catacombs alongside his father, wife and sister, and all his ancestors. He would succeed by his only son Flavius I, who was born to his only wife Lara shortly before her death 50 years prior. Known as an astute man with an eye for talent and a love of economics, his ascension would bring a economic golden age for the entire Empire, with new merchant guilds sponsored by the crown, along with the foundations of the Modern Imperial Bank and the use of paper IOU's in the place of gold, silver and gems, lead to a massive boon in what money was spent where in what amounts.

Imperial Government

The Empire is best described, in terms of governance, a Semi-Constitutional Monarchy, with the Diet able to exert a vast amount of control over Government institutions and a constitution outlines the powers of all three Branches of Imperial government and local government Institutions. However, Article 3, Section 6 and 7 of the Constitution outline the powers invested into the position of Emperor, granting the absolute authority to act upon one's own will without the Diet. The Empire also maintains several institutions to maintain its rule and authority, from the sprawling and well-known Magisterium to the shadowy Imperial Security Bureau and every institution in between

The Constitutional Power of The Diet and Emperor

Article 3, Section 6: "It is by the Grace of the Imperial Majesty that the Imperial Diet, and local government institutions Exercise and represent the will of the State, and it is by this will, that their Imperial Majesty hold the power to Dismiss his representatives and call fresh public elections, veto all legislation brought about by the Diet without challenge, remove any and all legislation that their majesty wishes from debate or committee for personal review, the issuing of imperial decrees without Dietary review or approval, the retaking of control for appointments to the Cabinet and reserving of the right for the dismissal and emergency appointment of all provincial Governors and Magistrates"
Article 3, Section 7: "It is by the Grace of the Imperial Majesty that the Imperial Armed Forces and local Provincial Militias defend the lands of The Second Forzorian Empire, the People of the Empire, The Faith of the Holy Church of The Emperor, and The Imperial Family. So, it is by the Grace of their Imperial Majesty, that the Role Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces be reserved for their Imperial Majesty, or an individual chosen by the Imperial Household to take up the Position in the absence of a proper Imperial Head"
These Sections of the Constitution outline the fact that, at the Discretion of the Emperor or Empress, the Empire can transform from a Constitutional Monarchy to an Autocratic state, where the Diet is shackled to the throne and Imperial Authority. However, when not utilizing this authority, the Empire is managed by the Imperial Diet, which choses it's Representatives in a proportional system, with the percent of the vote won by a party in the race for chancellor, being the percent of seats in the Diet rewarded to each party. The Diet hold elections every two years, with the largest party being granted the position of Chancellor and tasked with forming a ruling coalition government for the next two years, or until the emperor dismisses them and calls fresh elections.
The Diet traces its origins to the Rule of Emperor Flavius II, son of Alexander I. It was upon his fathers untimely death, with Flavius being only 15 at the time, a regency council formed in the capital. However, the Imperial aristocracy and merchant class, chaffing under the policies of Alexander I, declared their own regency council in the Trade City of Fraum, and prepared for civil war. It was only after the intervention of the popular and influential Lord Heinrich Fischer, who bribed and promised reform to the merchants, and deployed the home army to surrounded and forced the surrender of the noble rebel forces, before having their lands stripped and given to the crown.
Following the destruction of what had become known as the Council of Fraum, many took it as simply a foot note in imperial history, if it was no for the actions of Flavius II after his ascension to the throne. On the same day of his Coronation, when holding his first public speech outside the Cathedral of the Empire, Flavius II announced the formation of an Imperial Diet, which would have representatives from the merchant class, noble families, and important leaders from across the empire. This Diet would over the years, become a democratic institution with real legislative power, instead of simply a advisory board of certain interest groups. The Modern Diet is now a powerful and important institution in its own right, but in the end is still subservient to the Throne.

The Imperial Court of Justice

The Imperial Court of Justice is by far the most balanced of government institutions, with the emperor only able to nominate a justice to the 11-man court, the Diet can approve of this nomination with a simple majority or deny it and nominate their own justice that passes with Imperial approval. This balance has also allowed the court to be vested in the rare and absolute power to overturn over Imperial Decrees that violate the Constitution issued during the service of the most experienced member, so if the chief justice has served 33 years, any Imperial decrees issued in the past 33 years may be struck down. The Court may also strike down any Legislative law or Decree, with no time limit or barriers, as long as they violate the constitution. The Court itself was founded in the year 893IE, the exact logic on why Emperor Tiberius II formed the court is unknown, but the most common belief behind the court's formation was a secret deal between the Emperor and Diet for their support in the Emperors upcoming agenda concerning the plans for a new economic plan.

The Magisterium

The Magisterium, known to the Imperial populace as the Magisters, are often seen as the official eyes and ears of the Emperor across the Empire. The Magisters function as imperial overseers, watching over the Imperial Military, Governors, The Imperial Diet and Provincial Legislators, Making sure these institutions, figures and hundreds more are obeying proper law, procedure and processes. They are Judges, Tax Collectors, Government Investigators and Imperial Spies all in one, each Province is overseen by a High Magister, who in turn answers to the Magister General in the Capital, who himself reports directly to the Emperor.
When the Magisterium was first formed in the year 525 IE by Empress Catherina I, the Diet held no authority and oversight over them, leading to constant conflict between the two groups as they tried to better define the relationship between them. Eventually the Diet would earn an official observer to all reports from the Magister General to the Emperor, along with the Diet being the only Institution with the power to close its doors to a Magister who does not posses an official Imperial warrant of investigation, which must be signed by the Emperor personally.
A Magister can be identified among the populace by the badge that is kept pinned to their chest, a golden ring with a silver M within. It is often said to deny a Magister is to invite death, death of one's character and not one's life, such a phrase does not truly capture the scope of the power and influence of this old order, yet it does justice to the power of the organization.

Political Factions

Imperial Politics is dominated by several political parties, while some of these parties are long term staples of the Imperial Political system, others are outsiders to the Status Quo, wishing to bring radical change to the system and bring about a new order within the Empire and it's territories

Kaiserliche Konservative Partei

The Imperial Conservative Party (KKP), is traditionally principle party in Forzorian politics. Being the longest lasting party in the Empire, the KKP has followed a platform centered around the ideology of National Conservatism, by which traditional conservative values on social positions are combined with a nationalistic or cultural focus on identity and the state. Forzorian National Conservatism while center to the parties platform, is often seen as the old way of thinking, and in recent years the concept of Liberal Conservatism has become more and more mainstream within the party.
Liberal Conservatism, while maintaining the parties stance on government oversight of the economy, and maintaining positions on most social issues, has softened its approach to the question of ethnic minorities, with the concept pioneered by Bir members of the party who find policies of National Conservatism related to minority languages and culture distasteful, instead advocating a policy of pluralism, by which minority communities are to be protected from persecution. Liberal Conservatism also proposes a moderate approach to Women’s Rights, with the advocating of support for working mothers and expanding social security to cover those unable to work due to caring for children.
In the Opposite direction, a small minority of Conservative Politicians and leaders have adopted an ideological concept known as National Imperialism, an inherently anti democratic ideology seeking to lessen the power of the Imperial Diet into an advisory council serving at the pleasure of the Emperor.
The Modern Conservative Party currently holds a total of 84 seats in the Diet, a steep fall from the 149 seats they held before the elections of 856. The Conservative Party is currently headed by one Count Alistar IV from Khira, who assumed control of the party during the party congress of 856 with the support of the National Conservative and Liberal Conservative Factions within the party.

Forzorianische Liberale Partei

The Liberal Party(LP), is the second oldest party in Forzoria, being formed from the liberal wing of the Whig Party following the parties collapse and conservative wing dissipating or joining the Conservative Party. The Liberal Party is the primary opposition force to the Conservative Party in the Diet, adopting social and economic positions opposite of the Conservatives, including the relaxation of government restrictions on the economy, privatization of state owned companies, the liberalization of society including women’s rights, an end to integration programs and a program of secularization and separation of church and state. The Liberal Party unlike it's counterparts in the Conservatives are ideologically unified, with minimal factionalism and infighting, though recent years have seen a small rift between liberals more focused on the economic polices and privitization of the party, and those focused on the parties social platforms and relaxation of government social policy.
The Liberal Party currently holds 84 seats in the Imperial Diet, a fall from the 92 seats they held before the election of 856, the party occupies the position of opposition to the yet unformed Socialist Government. The Party is currently headed by Upcoming Liberal leader Ehren Aponius, who became the parties chancellor canidate in 856 following party leader Hoffman suffering a stroke and entering a coma.

Die Sozialdemokratische Partei

The Social Democratic Party is one of the relative newcomers to Imperial Politics, only officially registered 30 years ago, but the forces that make up the party have existed within both the Conservatives and Liberals for far longer. The Party advocates for the conservative position of strong government intervention in the economy, seeing run away business as a tool for oppression, while adopting the Liberal Position on supporting social change, while adopting a strong stance in support in a large and rudimentary welfare system for the citizens of the Empire.
The Social Democratic Party currently holds a total of 32 seats, a drastic fall from the 76 seats held my the party before the election, this fall is mostly contributed by the organization of the United Socialsts into a single party, managing to prey off the moderate stance of the social democrats to grow their own strength at their exprense. The Party is currently headed by its young new leader, and the first women to take prominence in politics, Ida Schmidt, who has only begun leading the party for less than a year.

Forzorische Kommunistische Partei

The Forzorian Communist Party(FKP), was once the face of the Forzorian Left and largest left wing party in the Diet. Originally formed at the turn of the century, the party would reach its zenith in the 820s when it successfully managed to capture 29% of the vote in the General Election, coming third behind the Liberals at 32% and Conservatives at 36%, shortly thereafter the Communist Party would suffer a setback when the coalition ticket it headed with other left wing parties would revolt, and formulate the United Forzorian Socialist Parties, with the communists reduced to a junior partner. This would last until the most recent election when the communists would split from the UFSP and take 3% or 12 seats in the diet, with the left wing vote split heavily between the communists, socialists and social democrats.
The Party is divided into two overall ideological camps, the Beckerites and the Grafs, with the Beckerites being supporters of long time leader and General Secretary of the Party Hermann Becker, while the Grafs support Party member and long time enemy of Becker Fredrich Graf, who has been a vocal critic of perceived authoritarian tendencies of Becker and his policies and stances concerning other left wing parties and organizations.
The Communist Party currently holds only 20 seats, a net gain of 8 seats from the previous election. The Party itself is headed by one Fredrich Graf, longtime deputy to General Secretary and first leader of the party Hermann Becker, who managed to unseat his longtime party rival in a tense party committe vote 19-17, taking the reigns ahead of the 856 election.

Vereinigte Sozialistische Volkspartei

The United Forzorian Socialist Parties(VFSP), formed in the late 820s, the UFSP was a union of about a half a dozen socialist parties from the communist coalition ticket, seeking to replace the Communist Party as the principle force of left wing politics in the Empire, and unseat what was seen as an increasingly unreliable communist leadership. The Party shares many similarities to that of the Social Democrats, The Party itself was a coalition ticket within national elections, split between several national and regional parties, the two Largest parties being the Rural Focused Agrarian Bund based in Grenze, and the Urban Based Socialist Party in Moldexia, other parties included the Gallian Labor Front, Working Party of Walten, Bir Worker's and Peasant's Party and the Anarchist Action Party.
The United Socialist People’s Party(VSV) would be the solution to unity in the election of 856, uniting almost every wing of the party, with only the Anarchists and Walten regional party refusing to join the new Party, this new organized party would be able to bring up a united party manifesto, platform and electoral strategy, propelling it to the highest level of support the forzorian left has ever seen in decades.
The VSV currently holds 88 seats in the in the diet, a sharp rise from the 40 seats they held before the election and positioning the VSV as the largest party in the Diet and first dibs on the formation of a government. The Party is formally headed by a central committe representing the many interests and the parties that once made up the coalition, but also have former Agrarian Bund leader Adalbert Garett and former Socialst Party leader Abraham Niemeyer serving as Co-chairmens of the Party.

Die Nationale Front

The National Front(NF), is a Right wing militant nationalist Party formed by the unification of several smaller veterans clubs, nationalist paramilitary and right wing Parties, having consolidated under the leadership of veteran and party founder Fredrich Wagner. The Party advocates what it defines as a National Rebirth, with the assimilation of other ethnic and cultural groups, the militarization of society, implementing National Syndicalism economic models and a staunch rejection of modern social movements and reforms.
The Parties three main components are the Forzorian Fascist Party, Iron Will and National Interests Party, the Fascist Party are considered the most extreme, advocating a system of near military dictatorship by strongmen and military leaders, the Iron Legion are far more focused on the Militarization of society, with much of the National Will Paramilitary comprised of Legion members, meanwhile the National Interest Party has often been seen as the least radical party, acting as the face of the party and its primary ideological center.
The National Party currently holds 48 seats in the diet, more theen double the 18 seats in the diet it held before the election. The Party is currently lead by Veteran of the Army Fredrich Wagner, who has gained national notoriety for his actions centered around the Parties Paramilitary forces the National Will, however with fascist party member Ludwig Hindenburg serving as the parties chancellor canidate in 856, he has seen a resurgent fascist wing around Ludwig threatening to unseat his position as head of the Coalition.

Die Nationale Revolutionäre Partei

The National Revolutionary Party(NRP), is the youngest party in the assembly, existing only since the election of 854. Formed by its once sole representative in the Diet, Fillipio Cicero Tomassi, the party split from the National Front following the election of 854 where Tomassi once being confirmed to the Diet left the Front and formed the NRP, leading to a lengthy court case between the two parties until the Imperial Courts found Tomassi had not violated any laws and was well within his prerogative to form his own party once in government.
The party advocates for an ideology known as Futurism a blend of National Syndicalism, Radical Civil Libertarianism, Nationalism, Authoritarianism and Anti-Clericalism. Headed by the party founder. The National Revolutionary Party currently holds 20 seats in the diet, a increase from the single seat it held in the entire Diet before the election. The Party itself is led by its founded the young and eccentric Fillipio Cicero Tomassi, known for his oddities and fiery persona, along with more then a few rumors about his sexual exploits.

Internal Territories

The Empire is divided between 13 Provinces and 1 Duchy, with each territory filled with its own history and people groups. These internal divisions are Governed in accordance with old Imperial Treaties, tradition and legislative regulations placed upon local government institutions. Each Territory is assigned a series of magistrates and imperial Inquisitors, tasked with making sure local government is obeying imperial decree and laws, along with rooting out organizations and ideals deemed to dangerous to be allowed to operate or take root.

Provinces

The Empire is home to 13 Imperial Provinces: Forzoria, Suda, Walten, Moldexia, Birland, Oceantar, Birtonta, Gallia, Gromland, Khira, Ikara, Liglen and Darklan. Each Province is headed by a Governor appointed by the Emperor, with advise from their Chancellor. Provinces also maintain their own Provincial branches of the Home Guard, that can be activated by the Governor in times of civil unrest, alternatively the Home Guard can be nationalized and called upon by a simple majority in the Imperial Diet or by Imperial Decree. Provinces can also be, if approved by 80% of the Diet or by Imperial Decree, transformed into a Military District and a Military Governor chosen from a Provinces Military Command Staff, or in extreme circumstances from the Command Staff of the Emergency Imperial Council.
Imperial Provinces are often carved out of the territory from defeated enemy nations, or of major ethnic minorities in territory taken from still existing nations. Every single Imperial Province have a different story on how they came into the empire, Birland was conquered after the Imperial Navy under the Command of Augustus II bested that of the Sea King, a task though only possible by the Sea God among the Bir people. Walten and Hoxtontavia were conquered following the Expedition of 5000 undertaken by Prince Flavius the Golden Eagle, who managed to bring the region into his own domain before handing them over to his brother Constans V. Countless stories exist on every province, how members of the Imperial family played some part in their conquest and annexation.

The Duchy of Hoxtontavia

Hoxtontavia is a strange oddity within the empire, while the aristocrats of the empire own land and hold titles they have long become nothing more but empty titles with prestige and nothing else, such is not the case on Hoxtontavia. The Duke of Hoxtontavia rules within his duchy, no governor or Provincial Diet to check his power, and no legal method for the Emperor or Imperial Diet to remove him from his position. This strange circumstance comes from the expedition of 5000, when Prince Flavius The Golden Eagle gained the support of a Hoxtontavian Count and had him named Duke in return for an oath of loyalty to the empire.
The Duchy does have some strappings of modern governance, with the locals permitted to vote in national elections, meaning the Diet does have the authority to enact laws on behalf of those people, and since the power of the Diet is derived from the authority of the Emperor, the Diet may issue laws with greater weight and authority then the Duke of Hoxtontavia, allowing democratic rule in the region should the Duke act in a way opposed by the Diet.

The Imperial Military

The Imperial Military is the single largest military force across the continent, each branch and subdivision of the military operates under its own authority and command structure, with only the High Command having the power to merge commands and organize larger theaters of branch cooperation.

The Imperial Army

Tracing its origins to Emperor Augustus I, the Imperial Army is the single largest branch of the armed services, it has fought wars across the continent for any sort of purpose laid before it by the Emperor. The Army is headed by a High Marshall, who is appointed by the High Command and Emperor, and runs the Military from the War Ministry in the Capital.
The Imperial Army in the modern era has favored a doctrine known as Lightning Warfare, relying on its heavily mechanized and Motorized forces, supported by a modern artillery core and mechanical air force. The doctrine proved its effectiveness during the Niremiria Intervention, when within a month the nation had been overrun by the Imperial Army, completing all major objectives and ended the war with minimal casualties. Despite the effective doctrine within the army, it remains an incredibly corrupt and politically motivated Institution, with it being common that command positions are bought with bribes and posting secured by Represensatives and Magisters in return for favors and the internal sabotage of corruption investigations.
This corruption in recent years has faced a man of such will and charisma, with an intellect and eye for talent to rival that of Emperor Augustus I, High Marshall Hermann Wagler. Appointed by Emperor Flavius VII, Wagler is the first man of lowborn status to ever achieve the position of High Marshall and has waged a decades long war in the halls of War Ministry in a hard-fought campaign to purge the army of all corruption, one he is slowly winning.

The Imperial Navy

Despite its origins during the Reign of Augustus I, it would be only during the reign of his distant Descendant Augustus II, known as the Navigator, who amassed a mighty fleet to face the Bir Sea King in the open ocean, it was this battle that rebirthed the Navy among Salt, Fire and Steel. This Battle established the Empire as a growing naval battle, and with the integration of the Bir people birthed a Naval Marshall tradition the empire could exploit for its naval forces. The Modern Navy is headed by a High Admiral, who commands the navy from the halls of the Naval Ministry at The Fraum Naval Yards
The Imperial Navies Doctrine of waging war is known as fleet in being, where the Imperial Navy would avoid direct engagement, prevent a decisive battle for the enemy and instead keeping the enemy from exercising control over the seas, and fearing a strike by the mighty Imperial navy anywhere, and everywhere. This Doctrine has proven of great value, with early wars having mightier enemy navies second guessing every move, trying to guess it's next move only to hear word of 3 attacks in 4 places by 5 smaller naval forces.
Unlike the Army, the Imperial Navy remains mostly uncorrupted, primarily due to the reforms enforced by Augustus II and his son Flavius IV, which has led to the navy promoting primarily on merit and not wealth or influence. This, however, has seen the Navy having sympathies to democratic and leftist groups, with the High Admiral, one Conrad Silvan, being a registered member of the United Forzorian Socialist Party. However, Conrad is known for his love of democratic rule and would oppose any sort of violent takeover unless the situation was so dire, he felt forced to act in defense of the Empire's people from its own government.

The Imperial Air Force

Founded just 2 decades ago, the Imperial Air Force was the brainchild of Emperor Flavius VII himself, merging the Army Air Service and the Naval Air Guard into a single united service. The Airforce is run from Fort Claw outside the Capital, where the Air Marshall runs the entire Aerial Service, from within the halls of the Air Ministry
The Imperial Aerial Doctrine, devised by Former Air Marshall Friedmen Dalmatus himself based on his own experience in the Army Air Service, was the concept of Aerial Support, where the Air Force's primary purpose was the support of the Army and Navy in their operations. This doctrine has focused on bombers and close air support to destroy enemy ships, infrastructure, and defenses; however the doctrine has seen challenge with recent developments in aerial transport and the concept of the Paratrooper gaining traction in military circles.
Due to the Air Force being created from both the Army and Navy, this Military Branch is still known to be corrupted, primarily its land base operations, with Air Marshall Erwin Schmidt heading the service. Schmidt is known for his apolitical stance and hatred of corruption, waging a war alongside his longtime friend and ally High Marshall Wagler to purge their branches and restore honor to the military as a whole.

The Imperial Guard

Formed shortly after the ascension of Augustus to the title of Emperor, he would form a private army of Spies, Thieves, Soldiers, Guardians and enforcers, tasked with protecting his family and enforcing his will upon the Government. The Modern successors for this private army are the single most feared fighting force known to mankind, having a near impossible and dangerous recruitment and training regime. The Imperial Guard exemplifies every part of the Marshal heritage of the Empire, having the single best soldiers, pilots and sailors in the whole known world.
Recruitment into the Guard is a great honor, with recruiters seeking out the best of the best from each military branch to fill its ranks, from there they are put through a series of trials and secret training rituals, unknown to even the military high command and ISB. Whatever is done, the Guards produced are feared and well known for a lack of emotion, an ever-aware mind and need for little sleep and food. The Guard has often been deployed to police the Capital in times of great turmoil and defend key position across the empire in times of war.
The Guard is run from the Imperial Palace in the Capital, where it is overseen by a Lord-General, who is elected from within the guard by the Captains of the Guard. The Current Lord-General is Tribunius Manstein, younger brother to the current Emperor, and described by his own brother as "The only man in this entire Empire I'm willing to trust everything to, it's a shame he fails to realize this"

The Imperial Home Army

Tracing itself to the Time of Emperor Augustus I, the Imperial Home Army is often seen as the last line of defense against invasion, made up of Province and city militias, professional army units and donated forces the army wanted to dump. It has been the task of the Home Army to defend the empire from internal and external threats when the normal military is unable to, often in conflict with the rest of the military.
Headed by a Commander-General, the Home Army is run in the Capital, from with its own wing of the Interior Ministry, though legally the home army answers to the Interior Ministry and its Commander are appointed by the Interior Minister, the Home Army is as of late imperial directed, as a way of maintaining military control over the Capital if ever needed.
The intense division between the forces of the Home Guard and the regular military units, along with the Interior Ministry growing increasingly aggravated of Imperial interference in the appointments of the Commander-General, the home guard is becoming increasingly politicized. Units clash in and out of uniform, officers make intense speeches backing one party or the other, and barracks turning into Political HQs. This situation has grown to threaten the Empire and may soon see a situation of internal violence not seen in a long time.
