Rotting Man "The Laughing Dead", or Avarice is an Emperor of the Sea. He has dark skin, but it has paled and greyed due to the fact that his body is rotting. He has dark grey and white hair, that is patchy and falling out in places. Rotting Man has one hand, in which he holds a large greatsword grafted with the bones of Davy Jones. His skeleton is exposed on most of his body, especially on his left side, and he is missing his right leg. It has been replaced by a peg leg. A green energy emanates from within his body, and in his left eye. Rotting Man is a Lunarian, but hides that fact.
Rotting Man is egotistical, cocky, and quick to anger. He enjoys fighting, but never goes all out. He is afraid of losing his empire. His dream is to convert the entire world into his undead empire.
He possesses the Death-Death Fruit, a paramecia fruit that grants it's user the ability to revive the dead, then control them. He has a 76,600,000 Quel Bounty.
