Road to Zalgend

General Summary

After taking some time to recuperate, the Grey Outcasts convened to determine their next course of action.  The five of them all agreed that the trials ahead of them would be difficult and that they could not face their current antagonist, Tulak, without the help of their sixth member.  All agreed that they would use what time they had to look for Clarimund, before the cold hit.  Their best lead was still the strange dream they had before the siege; it wasn't much, but it was all they had.  The five of them said their goodbyes and made their way northwest towards the city of Molag.  It was a risky move, Molag was Tulak's stronghold, and they could have very well been walking right into his hands.  However, none of them knew where Zalgend was, and a large city center was their best bet of finding out where it was.  Making their way across the Horned Lands, they ran into some trouble; two wyverns looking for food, that found a band of competent adventurers instead.  After making short work of the pair, they continued their journey and arrived at Molag.  On the horizon they could see that the city was old, but very well defended.  Though it walls were crumbling, the siege engines and war camps surrounding it were enough of a deterrent.  The group of them tried to blend in and make their way through the front gate, but were stopped by a troop of soldiers.  The conversation went friendlier than the five of them expected, and the troop tipped them off about a job that the acting general of the city was offering.  A fang dragon had been terrorizing troop patrols and was offering thousands of gold to anyone who could kill it.  The offer was tempting, but the party decided that this opportunity wasn't worth the immense risk.  They made their way to the upper district of the city, where the five of them got into some shenannigans with a local noble, and a purveyor of magical items.  After making a few purchases, they learned that the fortified town of Zalgend was just north of Molag, along the Southern Skull Trail.  They left as quickly as they arrived and made it to Zalgend in a few day's time.  As they approached the small town, they were reminded of their early adventuring days of visiting villages who needed the help of wayward adventurers.  Though, they had a foreboding sense that this adventure would be most unlike those they had been on in their early days...
