Birthdays of the Betafolk

"Under the ocean there are in mysterious race called the Betafolk. They have bright colors long frivolous fins fins and have a culture that is quite unique. It is very hard for one to go and study them as the live in the Live in the amethyst whirlpools. In order to talk about their birthday celebrations we should first start at the beginning their meeting rituals. These rituals Consist of a a fierce dance between the males and females of this race, although it is noted that non-binary and same sex couples can participate but, obviously rarely are offspring produced. After a successful dance the mail will make a bubble nest while the female will lay her eggs. The mail will then gently take each egg one by one and place them into a bubble for protection. After that the female will leave on a journey or travel back town Leaving the mail to raise the kids. Life is very hard where they live and they can only exist in that one location so birthdays are a big importance to these people.These people are not too fond of strangers so being able to study and observe them is a real honor!"

History

As a beta folk grew to maturity they would have a chance to join the right of passage. At first this meant taking up arms and fighting rival beta but as conditions worsened it became too costly to the population so now every year during the mating dances they also have the Bubble Celebrations. These once bloody fights have now turned into an exchange of fighting techniques and ideas. Now this right of passage is more symbolic as the aggression of this species has gone considerable down. Another thing that has changed is that now all Betafolk are considered to have the same Birthdate, the  day of the mating dances as it is far easier to celebrate in one massive festival than multiple small ones.

Execution

For these celebrations most beautiful will travel to the capital city of Moon crest where they hold the meeting dances and after those are complete a day later it turns into the bubble celebration area. This is where any betafolk who is turning a year older Will gather and join in the celebration. These celebrations include but are not limited to, eating dancing, "fighting", and debates. This period is rare because it is so hard to travel in the Amethyst Whirlpools.

Components and tools

Components and tools would include the birthday pool which is a long pole with colorful tassels that represent the the fins of the betafolk and of course there is always a lot of food stuff.

Participants

Participants are those growing a year older which would be everyone basically. Key roles would go to the chief or dominant male who is the ruler of all the better. He has the responsibility of starting off the celebrations and being the judge for the mock battles that the beta will go through.
