On the Ring
The ring is the most inhabited landmass, although it sorely lacks fertile land. This is because the more wealthy landmasses are far too dangerous and are only for the boldest and bravest of humankind.
Because of the lack of fertile land, the people here have been forced to switch to a mostly fish-based diet, and they stick to many dust-covered coastal cities and towns.
The bulges
The fringe is mostly narrow, and roughly equally narrow for its entire length, except the two bulges. They are mountainous landmasses with flat highlands behind their peaks, those lands are much more suitable for agriculture, but at the same time they are also very isolated and removed from the rest of the fringe, they have given form to their own highland nations, intent on protecting their food from foreign thieves who would rob them of their succes.
The Edge
On one side of the fringe, there is a sea, while on the other side, there is only air. This is the edge of the world, and steep cliffs descend quickly into the abyss. Although these slopes are dangerous, they offer an attractive opportunity for the desperate, as many valuable minerals can be mined here, and many edible plants grow on the cliff faces. It is common for a reckless adventurer to venture down to the plateaus in search of wealth, but they may also find their death.
