Personal history
Born mute, Cassia struggled with her presence when meeting people, both around the province and outside of it. She naturally gravitated toward her father as a support figure, spending much of her time with him. She became interested in many of the books that her father kept in his office, and enjoyed spending time with him while he did his work. The two could sit for hours in the same room, not saying a word but enjoying the other's company nonetheless. Though she has received various tutors and coaches, she has never been able to speak, but is trying to gain some kind of confidence when it comes to social events.

Most of what Cassia knows she's learned from books in her father's library, though some of her knowledge has been taught by tutors.

Though not able to speak, Cassia has a gentle, nurturing nature and will still attempt to help teach someone a concept if they don't understand it, so long as she can get past her anxieties. She loves to read new and interesting books, with a particular interest on learning things that can be difficult for any other person to comprehend.
