The Fall of Jotunheim

So hear me you hatchlings, ~ as high in the clouds we
will travel together, ~ to a time long forgotten
when small folk were simpler ~ - no spell-speech or farmland -
and ended forever ~ the Age of the Jotuns.

The All-Father's children ~ Annam, our creator,
were granted a birthright: ~ this globe to rule over
and Jotunheim flourished ~ for years beyond counting,
unwarily waiting the ~ worm of destruction.

The Ordning was perfect, ~ it ordered our peoples
with Storm above Cloud a- ~ bove Stone and on downward.
So focused on finding ~ All-Father's approval,
the wyrm grew unwitnessed ~ to world-shaking power.

Then born from a dawn-egg ~ the Bane of the Jotuns,
a brother and sister ~ who brought us to ruin,
we battled their children ~ with balefire and lightning,
made blasphemous bargains ~ to banish our foe.

When dust had all settled, ~ the dragons defeated,
celestial brother, ~ his sister in chains,
still doomed were the giants ~ to dwindle and scatter,
and wend a new path through ~ the world of the small.
