High Lady Morozura Bethab
High Lady Morozura Bethab
"High Lady Bethab once offered my father a contract for trade between our lands. It looked very profitable to me so I suggested my father sign it. Then he notice on page 7 an additional clause that would've granted Bethab a favored claim in a succession after my father if he succeeded in uniting Alethkar. Father was furious."
Prince Elhokar Kholin
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
High Lord Bethab is a middle aged half-orc, still considered to be in the prime of his life. However, apathy towards his citizens, and his lust for power over others (along a general disinterest in true leadership) has started making him get a little fat. He is still tall for a half-orc, and still maintains his threatening presence when meeting with anyone who isn't one of his merchants.
Identifying Characteristics
The left of his two prominent teeth appears to have been cut almost in half length wise. According to story his tooth was cut by a shardblade during a battle in his youth. According to scholars, this could be the case, since homanoids have had their teeth and other bones cut by shardblades without dying, however no witnessed have come forward to verify his story.

Personal history
Bethab is considered a young high lady, and ascended to position in 1154, when she was only 16. Her father, the previous High Lord Bethab, was killed in 1154 by rebels fighting for Lord Erizen Roion during their civil war, while travelling from a vacation he had had in Relanus. The rebels, who had attempted to take the carriage believing it to hold High Lady Iafa herself, had shot the High Lord numerous times with arrows before realizing it wasn't their intended target. According to those who survived the attack, the High Lord then slaughtered the rebels with his shardblade, while three arrows protruded from his chest. Just before he died, the High Lord turned the shardblade on himself, claiming to his guards that lay around him that by killing himself with the blade, tradition dictates that House Bethab killed him, therefore his daughter is now the true owner of the blade. (For an in depth explanation of Shardblades and the traditions surrounding them, see the associated article).
After ascending to the position, the new High Lady Bethab was an apathetic ruler, who cared more for her own strength power than her own people. Instead of recruiting a standing army from her population, Bethab is much more fond of hiring mercenaries to fight for her. Generally, she finds these mercenaries as they participate in the Grand Arena's gladiatorial events. This has resulted in a number of unnecessarily bloody and barbaric skirmishes with soldiers from house Sebariel. In 1160, Bethab launched an attack on Sebariel's lands, hoping that Sebariel would be too focused on commerce to notice her bands of mercenaries until it was too late. This lead to the Wes'hent Massacre of 1160, and almost dragged Alethkar into a bloody civil war. In the end, Bethab alleged she did not order the mercenaries to slaughter villagers, and was free of guilt in the matter.
Bethab has been trying to conquer new territory ever since, sending out raiding parties to test her neighbors House Thanadal and Sebariel's defenses.

She holds the belief commonly held among many of the Orcs and Half-orcs in her territory, that her family was granted the smallest amount of territory because of their race.
