Personal history
High Lady Siamas Aladar was born in 1020 EOS, and is the third oldest of the High Lords (behind Sebariel, and Ruthar), does show her age. She took the High Lord position in 1101 EOS, when she was 81 years old, after her father stepped down to live the rest of his days in comfort, not having to rule a princedom anymore. The next in line to rule House Aladar is her daughter, Risim Aladar, who is still quite young (only 21 years old).
While a popular ruler in the later years of her reign, the High Lady did not begin as such, since she married a previously not very well known young tiefling noble named Telerus who's family resided on the outskirts of House Aladar's land. While intermingling between races is considered a normal practice (the Vorin church has no specific doctrine on it) what drew the ire of the Aladarian Court (and for many gossipers in the Alethkar court) was the fact that the young man was almost unknown to the court before their announced union. Being a very minor noble (8th Dahn) gossip went wild as nobles across Alethkar attempted to investigate the man who had jumped from 8th to 1st Dahn, and who's family had just been elevated to 5th Dahn. This sparked a brief cultural movement, and numerous books were printed with plots about two nobles in 1st and 10th dahn falling in love. Errenous Bigsby wrote Phin and the King of Rendraj. a book about a king falling in love with a dark eyed commoner, which became one of the hottest books on the market for months, nobles and commoners alike became engrossed with the idea of class difference romance.
Within a decade of her ascension to High Lord, Aladar had silenced the gossip about her marriage as her popularity soared. Tired of corrupt magistrates, paid off juries, and no justice for the dark eyes, she made a sweeping change to the justice system, removing corrupt light eyes from their posts and magistrates for other duties, strengthening control over jury selection, and providing state funded defense attorney's for all classes of people, Aladar turned a once corrupt court system into the fairest in the world. She offered opportunities for young nobles, especially 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sons and daughters who would not inherit their parents title or position, to prove themselves worthy of title and rank by upholding her ideals of justice. High Lady Aladar had not only provided justice for those who would normally not receive it, but had also prevented a revolt from her court by aiding young, powerful, and well connected nobles with opportunity. While some corrupt light eyes missed no longer being able to pay off magistrates to win their cases, they quickly realized they were in the minority.
