Uku (You-koo)
Uku, or the floating city, is the trade hub of Machukara. The biggest settlement after the capital, it is located in the middle of Erufu Bay. The population of the city flucuates between 600-1000 depending on the season and the amount of trade
The city is circular in layout and consists of three layers. The first is the docks which are stationed all around the city, split into 16 sub-docks for ease. This is where all the goods are unloaded/loaded.
Moving inwards from there is the trade district. This is where the trade is actually done, with those goods not ordered. Shops are set up to attract travelers and traders. These range from makeshift temporary tent set ups to long term buildings. Amongst all of these are the taverns and inns used to provide entertain and lodge for weary travelers and traders.
At the center of the city (seperated by a mote of water) is the giant Hogo Tower, reaching well over 10 stories high. Whilst being a tourist attraction and a marvel of ingenuity it also serves a crucial service to the secruity Machukara. Poised at the top of the Tower is a large Abjuration Shin Crystal which is responsible for the protective sphere that surrounds the territory, protecting it from the adverse affects of close proximity to the Shin Spire.
Below the Tower is the Water temple of Nureta and abodes of the ruling Secretary who oversees the day to day running of the city.
Whilst it is the trade hub within Machukara, it is not where the goods and services arrive off-territory. Only those with strict registration can trade here due to the security risk. All off-territory trades are conducted in The Final Frontier Docks of Nakamaru. Current leader: Secretary Ysuran Avondril
