Hunter
"The nature was wild and untamed, and its beasts many. Wolves would come out to eat our sheep, rats our grain, and the sick birds flocked numerous, tainting our food and spreading their disease to us.
"Hunter saw that we did not know how to approach the nature that we didn't own, didn't have the courage to defend our own lest the beasts would be angered and descend on us like locusts. He called to us from the edges of the forests, drew us into the shadows to show us there was nothing to fear. He gave us the knowledge of trees and beasts and waters and winds, of everything around us. He taught us not to fear but to respect and live in harmony.
"He showed us the traps and the way of tracking, the way of hunting so we could eat and be safe, and we learned to listen to the songs of birds that were warnings of beasts coming. When he left, we were at home in our domains as well as his, and learned our place as part of the natural world."
Hunter is one of the first gods and the god of animals, nature, and seasons. His clerical domains are Nature, Tempest, and Twilight, and his most commonly used symbol is a wolf's head. He's also commonly prayed to by bounty hunters.
In myths, he's often seen as a primal god that cannot be forced to follow anything but his own mind, his own path of freedom. He has the ability to take a form of any animal, an ability that some of his followers are gifted with, though it is usually limited to one animal. Because of this, some people view lycantrophy as a gift from Hunter, rather than a curse created wholly by Fyllweald: some believe that depending on the nature of one's lycantrophy, it could come from one or the other, meaning there could be two variants of it.
Depictions
Hunter is often depicted as an elven man wearing a dark-green cloak and a leather armor, with at least one, usually two, wolves standing by his side. He often carries a longbow, but can also be seen with two swords, especially in places that concentrate more on sentient bounties rather than more common beasts.
Followers
Hunter's followers are often viewn as patient, and they tend to have an eye for details, often keeping guard in the dark hours while the rest of the village sleeps. Many also see them as introverted and alert rangers who know the wilds and animals like the backs of their hands.
