Elf
"Time goes by, yet they remain. Peculiar, methinks, that they are still here despite their age. Methinks there's many a secret hidden amongst them."Elves are a peculiar race compared to their fellow inhabitants of Ukufa, often isolating themselves in their magical homes without ever interacting with the outside world and yet observing the changes of time with a precise accuracy.
Basic Information
Biological Traits
Elves have a fascinating resistance to the effects of high-magic environments and the dangers of a Magic Overdose. Because of this, elves are much more naturally adept with magic compared to individuals of other races with equivalent or even slightly higher levels of latent magic.
Ecology and Habitats
Elves innately prefer forests with higher levels of magic, their fine tuning with nature and mana leading to a comfort only found deep within the embrace of thickets and woods.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Elves, despite their omnivorous digestive systems, prefer to subsist themselves on plants, crops and foraged goods from their homelands, similar to magic vegans. This often leads to a deeply ingrained vegetarian ethos in elven cultures, but it isn't unanimous.
Behaviour
Elves are one of the more intriniscly isolationist races, their natural instincts to seal themselves off from other and live in tiny or hermetic communities, but there are many elves known to overcome this and spread out into normal society, adapting to override their desire for solitary living.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Elves usually establish small, hermetic clusters that isolate themselves from the outside world. These clusters usually compose of families that have lived there for generations, the numbers of the community rarely changing as new generations either stay and replenish the fallen or move on to fulfill their own legacies.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Because of the natural attunement to magic held by Elves, they are often used for more magical-orientated tasks and are known to be prime targets of raids run by Orc Warbands, who prize the value of magical slaves if brought to heel.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Elves are often found in more natural environments, away from many of the dense cities found elsewhere but rather closer to nature in forests and biologically rich plains. They are, however, known to live closer to high-magic environments, their ideal position being as close to dangerous levels without putting themselves at risk.
Average Intelligence
Elves naturally have a highly refined intelligence, understanding concepts many other races would require years of study and research as simple concepts taught in early adulthood. Because of this, Elven scholars are simultaneously famed and infamous for their sudden appearances out of their closed off lifestyles leading to major and sudden advancements in global technology, only to then dissapear again.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms
Elves are one of the few races almost entirely immune to the small handful of parasitic symbiotes found across the many worlds, an unknown component of their makeup causing their bodies to aggressively and efficiently kill off any creature attempting to control them.
Civilization and Culture
Historical Figures
One of the most well known Elven scholars is Friedrich Jakinstu, who traversed the globe to document various races and creatures. Friedrich is most well known for his various series of compendiums and documents detailing his discoveries and observations, treated as one of the first globe-trotting chroniclers.
