Magic Overdose
Causes
People become afflicted by Magic Overdose when exposed to extreme levels of magic for a prolonged period of time, but it usually does not spread from person to person.
Symptoms
Magic Overdose first presents through low-level headaches and increased spell strength but rapidly develops to a point where the caster suffers from intense headaches and their spells become out of control until either the overdose passes or the caster dies in a violent discharge of magical energy.
Treatment
The only known method to improve the chances of recovery are to move the afflicted to a low-magic environment and use depleted Mana Crystals to drain the magical energy.
Prevention
Many mages and people who are wary of suffering from Magic Overdose often avoid high-magic environments or reduce their use of magic.
